What riders say

Real travellers, real trips

Refreshing customer service

I was so impressed with the timely, professional and kind response from Lisa. Last-minute family trip — she went out of her way to help us. We will absolutely use Life on a Bike in the future.

Lovely trip, fantastic landscapes

Great bikes. Our tip: the best route signs are the locals themselves. A wonderful experience — we’d do it again.

Frequent questions

  • Can I bring my own bike?

    arrow-down-icon

Yes — you can ride any of our tours on your own bike, or rent one from us instead. We do recommend renting, because not all bikes have the same parts, so we can only guarantee the best mechanical assistance when you hire directly from us.

  • What kind of assistance will I have during the trip?

    arrow-down-icon

You will always have an emergency phone number you can call. On self-guided trips, you will need to be able to make your own minor repairs, such as replacing an inner tube in the event of a puncture, or fixing a slipped chain, but you can always count on assistance on site for more serious damage.

  • How can I know if a tour matches my level of ability?

    arrow-down-icon

We rank our tours on a scale of 1 to 5, based on the length, elevation changes and complexity of the itinerary. If you have any doubts then please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help you find the trip that is right for you.

  • Are there rental options for electric bikes?

    arrow-down-icon

Yes — most of our partner operators offer an electric bike as an alternative to a standard one, for riders who want a more comfortable trip. You indicate the type of bike you prefer during the booking process, and the corresponding rental price is shown before you pay.
