Guided or self-guided cycling holidays?

The two words describe who makes the decisions on the road, not how much support you get. On a guided cycling holiday a leader rides with the group, a van carries the bags and often a spare wheel, and the departure dates are fixed months ahead. You trade flexibility and roughly 25-40% of the price for company and local storytelling.

On a self-guided cycling holiday you get the same route, the same hotels and the same luggage transfer, minus the guide and the group.
