For tour operators

How it works

Three steps from registration to bookings

The whole flow is designed so you can complete it without a sales call, without a contract negotiation, and without uploading PDFs manually one by one.

1

Register your company

Self-service form with your business details, primary contact, and partner mandate. Connect your Stripe account in the same flow. About 5 minutes.

2

Send us your tour catalogue

Email us your tour PDFs or web pages. Our system extracts itinerary, prices, photos, and dates. You review the preview before each tour goes live.

3

Get bookings — and paid directly

Travellers book your tours on lifeonabike.com. Payments land directly on your Stripe account, with our 15% commission deducted automatically. You own the customer relationship.

Why operators choose us

Transparent, partner-first, infrastructure-light.

15% commission, nothing else

No listing fee, no subscription, no per-tour fee, no upfront cost. We only earn when you do — on confirmed and paid bookings.

Stripe direct charges

Payments are processed on your own Stripe account. You are the merchant of record. Our commission is deducted via Stripe application fee, automatically.

You own the customer

Direct customer email, phone, and booking details flow to your inbox. No middle-man pretending to be the operator.

We bring the audience

Cyclists from the USA, UK, Canada, Germany, and across Europe actively searching for self-guided bike tours land on lifeonabike.com every day.

Commercial terms

The mandate in plain English.

You see the full mandate text before signing, during the onboarding flow. Here are the eight points that matter most. The contract is governed by Estonian law (where our entity is incorporated) and referenced against EU Package Travel Directive 2015/2302.

Roles
You are the sole travel-services provider under EU Package Travel Directive 2015/2302. Life on a Bike is the platform — not the tour operator.
Payment
Stripe Connect, direct charges only. You issue the invoice to the customer. Stripe fees borne by you. Commission retained automatically as application fee.
Commission
15% on confirmed and paid bookings (including supplements, bike rental, transfers, upgrades). No commission on taxes, insurance, refunds, or chargebacks. Automatic clawback on refunds.
VAT
Reverse charge mechanism (Article 196 EU VAT Directive) for EU TOs. 0% VAT for non-EU TOs.
Booking SLA
Confirm or decline customer bookings within 72 hours of receipt. Overdue confirmations may be cancelled at the customer’s request, with concurrent notice to the Tour Operator.
Insolvency protection
You hold and maintain PTD insolvency protection for your customers (we do not provide it). Details are communicated to the customer at booking.
Term & termination
30 days written notice either side. Confirmed bookings honoured, commission remains due. Stripe link stays open until full settlement.
Governing law
Estonian law. Harju Maakohus, Tallinn. Electronic signature via eIDAS Regulation EU 910/2014 with timestamp, IP, version audit trail.

Common questions

Frequently asked.

How long does onboarding take?

About 5–10 minutes for the registration form, plus the Stripe Connect setup which depends on whether you already have a Stripe account (instant if yes, 10–30 minutes if you create a fresh one).

Do I need an existing Stripe account?

No. The onboarding flow walks you through Stripe Connect setup if you don't have one. You'll need standard business documents and an IBAN — same as any payment processor signup.

What happens after I register?

Once Stripe activates your account, your COMPANIES record goes live. Within 24 hours we coordinate with you (email) to upload your tour catalogue. From then, your tours appear on lifeonabike.com and start receiving bookings.

Can I list just one or two tours?

Yes. There is no minimum catalogue size. Many of our partners list 3–10 tours to start and scale up.

What if I want to leave?

30 days written notice on either side, no exit fee. Confirmed bookings continue to be honoured through their travel date. Your Stripe Connect link stays active until full settlement.

Do I need an EU entity?

No. We onboard non-EU TOs too. The mandate handles non-EU cases (0% VAT, no reverse-charge mechanism).

How is data privacy handled?

GDPR-compliant. Customer data is shared with you only for bookings they make with your tours. Marketing communications are handled by us under separate consent.
