Cycle Turkey's Lycian coast on an 8-day guided boat and bike tour from Fethiye to Bodrum. Your gulet moves each night while you ride pine-scented mountain roads past Kaunos to ancient Knidos, and swim straight off the deck in bays no road reaches.
Eight days, five islands and a wooden gulet that follows you everywhere. You wake up in a different harbour almost every morning, roll your bike down the gangway and ride out into the Dodecanese: the Asclepion of Hippocrates on Kos, the knights' fortress above Agia Marina on Leros, the white alleys of Patmos, the sleepy lanes of Lipsi, the climbers' cliffs of Kalymnos. Distances are short and always finish near water, so most days end with a swim off the back of the boat and a shared dinner under the stars. Guides ride with you and the crew cooks on board, which means the only real decision you make each day is whether to pedal or stay on deck.
Eight days, six islands and one beautiful wooden gulet. You start and finish in Bodrum, and in between you wake up in a different harbour almost every morning: Kos with its Roman forum and crusader fortress, the volcanic crater of Nisyros, quiet Tilos, tiny Chalki, and Symi with its stacked pastel houses above the water. The riding is real riding, 22 to 41 km a day on hilly island roads with some proper climbs, always with a guide and always ending back at the boat for a swim off the ladder. Evenings are spent in harbour towns or on deck with the crew. If you like your cycling with sea air, archaeology and a short day's distance that still asks something of your legs, this is the one.
Eight days round trip from Bodrum: sail the Gulf of Gökova on a traditional gulet and cycle 206 km through pine forest, olive groves and quiet coastal roads. Guided in English, with swim stops in turquoise bays, dinner on board and the ancient site of Knidos.
