Where does the tour start and end?
The tour is a loop starting and ending in Lecce, the Baroque capital of Salento. Arrival is on Day 1 and departure is on Day 6 after breakfast.
What is the difficulty level?
This tour covers 249 km over 4 riding days with a total ascent of 1,745 metres on paved and coastal roads. Daily distances range from 50 to 75 km. Day 3 offers a shorter option of 52 km with +230 m for those who prefer an easier stage. A reasonable level of fitness is suitable for this tour.
Which bike types are available?
You can rent a trekking bike, a gravel bike, a road bike or an e-bike. Bike rental includes helmet, rear pannier, lock, water bottle and repair kit with spare tube, tire lever and pump.
What is included in the package?
The package includes 5 nights in your chosen accommodation category, daily breakfast, luggage transport service between hotels, access to the Roadbook for Discovery app with route tracks and cultural tips, an eco-bag, and telephone assistance.
What is not included?
Bike rental, arrival and departure transfers, lunches and dinners, and tourist taxes are not included in the base package.
Which accommodation categories are offered?
You can choose between Standard and Superior accommodations. A single room supplement and a solo traveller supplement is applied in case of a single booking. Reductions are available for the third bed and fourth bed.
When can the tour be operated?
Departures are available year-round in 2026 across three rate seasons. Low season covers 7 January – 27 March, 7 April – 31 May, and 21 September – 21 December. Mid season runs 1 June – 13 July and 25 August – 20 September. High season covers 28 March – 6 April, 14 July – 24 August, and 22 December – 6 January. An August supplement applies from 1 to 24 August.
How do I reach Lecce?
The closest airports are Brindisi (around 40 km from Lecce) and Bari (around 150 km from Lecce), both served by direct flights from major European cities. From either airport you can reach Lecce by train, bus or private transfer.
Is this tour suitable for solo travellers?
Yes, solo travellers are welcome. A solo traveller supplement applies per booking, in addition to the single room supplement.
What are the UNESCO and cultural highlights on the route?
The tour includes Lecce Baroque architecture, the 15th-century frescoes of the Basilica of Santa Caterina d'Alessandria in Galatina, Gallipoli old town, Santa Maria di Leuca where the two seas meet, Otranto Cathedral with its medieval mosaic floor and 813 martyrs' relics, and the Grotta della Poesia near Torre dell'Orso.
