Bangkok to Koh Yao Noi via Khao Sok

Day 1: Bangkok – Sam Roi Yot (20 km; +70 m)
Your journey begins mid-morning with a hotel pick-up in Bangkok. A private van carries you south to the laid-back coastal town of Pranburi, around three hours away. Here you meet your bike, settle the final adjustments, and set off on a short, easy first ride along quiet coastal roads to Sam Roi Yot, where limestone peaks rise dramatically from the plain.

Day 2: Sam Roi Yot – Kui Buri (51 km; +160 m)
After breakfast you head for Sam Roi Yot National Park, the park of three hundred peaks, where limestone formations stand over marshes blanketed in lotus flowers. You stop to climb — or sail — to the majestic Phraya Nakhon Cave and the floating temple it shelters, then ride on through fishing villages to Kui Buri, gateway to a park famous for its wild elephants.

Day 3: Kui Buri – Prachuap Khiri Khan (38 km; +110 m)
A long, straight road leads to Wat Ao Noi, a Buddhist sanctuary tucked into the cliff. After a cool pause in the cave, you continue to the seaside town of Prachuap Khiri Khan. Lunch on the lively seafront, then climb Khao Chong Krachok — Monkey Mountain — for a sweeping view over the bay and the hilltop temple housing Buddha's footprint.

Day 4: Prachuap Khiri Khan – Ban Krut (73 km; +320 m)
The longest day opens with a sea-view breakfast as the fishing boats return. The route alternates coastal stretches with winding lanes through endless coconut groves — a contemplative ride lived at the rhythm of the pedals. You reach a quiet beach resort in time to wander the fishing village and catch Wat Thang Sai, the hillside temple, at sunset.

Day 5: Ban Krut – Bang Saphan (64 km; +270 m)
The day opens with a magical stretch along the Royal Coast Road beneath the palms as the sun rises. Coconut trees give way to pines, the sea on your left and farmland on your right, the traffic all but gone. Midway you discover Wat Khao Tham Ma Rong, a remarkable cave temple of Buddhas, before the hidden bay of Bang Saphan and its clear waters welcome you to rest.

Day 6: Bang Saphan – Pathio · transfer to Khao Sok (53 km; +340 m)
You leave the coast road for quiet back-country lanes through rubber and palm forest, almost free of traffic, pausing at Wat Kaeo Prasert for its panorama over the peaks. The ride ends in Pathio, from where a van transfer takes you into one of Thailand's wildest places: Khao Sok. Tonight you sleep by the river, surrounded by limestone and the sound of the jungle.

Day 7: Khao Sok · transfer to Koh Yao Noi (boat day, no cycling)
A day off the bike. You board a private boat early to beat the crowds and cross Ratchaprapha Lake at the heart of Khao Sok National Park, where limestone peaks rise vertically from turquoise water. Back to shore by noon for a riverside lunch, then a transfer to Ao Thalane pier and a private boat to Koh Yao Noi, a pristine island between Krabi and Phuket.

Day 8: Koh Yao Noi — free day
Welcome to one of Thailand's most authentic islands — no nightclubs, no crowded beaches, just Malay fishing villages, rice paddies and mangroves. The day is yours: rent a scooter, find a near-deserted beach, kayak along the shore, or watch the boats from a café by the lagoon. In the evening, the fresh-fish restaurants are worth the trip alone.

Day 9: Koh Yao Noi — free day
A second day to take the island at your own pace. Rise early to watch the fishermen head out, explore the rice paddies by bike or on foot, rest in a hammock facing the islets of the Andaman Sea. As the day winds down, head to the northern tip for sunset over the limestone pinnacles of Phang Nga Bay.

Day 10: Koh Yao Noi – Phuket · departure
A last island breakfast with a sea view before the boat to Phuket, around ninety minutes across the bay with one final look at the limestone pinnacles. From Phuket you can fly to Bangkok for an onward connection, or fly home directly from Phuket International Airport.
