Bangkok to Koh Yao Noi via Khao Sok
Gulf of Thailand Coast, Khao Sok & Andaman Sea
Short Description
From the bustle of Bangkok to the silence of an Andaman island, this ten-day journey traces the Gulf of Thailand on quiet back roads few travellers ever see. You will ride past fishing villages and coconut groves, pause at cliffside temples, and watch the sun melt into deserted beaches. The route stays mostly flat, on paved and peaceful roads, with only a handful of short climbs to earn the view. Six days in the saddle are woven together with boat crossings and transfers that carry you inland into the jungle of Khao Sok and out across turquoise water to Koh Yao Noi. You will sleep by a river beneath limestone peaks, glide over the flooded forest of Ratchaprapha Lake, and finish on one of Thailand's last unspoilt islands — two free days that are entirely your own. Your luggage travels ahead of you, and the LocalRoutes team is never more than a phone call away.

🙋 Common questions
How difficult is this tour?
The tour has six cycling days averaging around 53 km, on mostly flat, paved and quiet roads with a few short climbs. The longest day is 73 km. It suits active riders in reasonable shape, and an e-bike upgrade is available for extra comfort on the climbs.
What kind of bike is provided?
A touring bike is included in the price, fitted at the start of the tour. An e-bike can be booked as an optional supplement. If you use SPD cleats, you may prefer to bring your own pedals and shoes.
When can I do this tour and what is the best season?
The tour is self-guided with flexible start dates. Thailand's cool, dry season — roughly November to February — is generally the most comfortable for cycling, though the coastal route can be ridden across much of the year.
What type of accommodation is used?
You stay in guesthouses, small hotels and beach resorts on a twin-sharing basis, with breakfast included each morning. A single-room supplement is available for travellers who prefer their own room.
Is my luggage transferred between hotels?
Yes. Luggage transfer is included, so you ride each day with only what you need. Your bags travel ahead and meet you at the next accommodation.
How do I get there and back?
Fly into Bangkok (BKK or DMK), where the tour begins with a private transfer. The tour ends on Koh Yao Noi with a boat to Phuket, from where you can fly home (HKT) or connect via Bangkok.
What is not included?
Lunches and dinners, international and domestic flights, airport transfers, visa fees and travel insurance are not included. Transfers beyond those listed in the programme are also excluded.
