Short Description

Cycle the three rivers around Passau on this 5-day self-guided tour based in a single Bavarian hotel. Each morning you set off where the Danube, Inn and Ilz meet, following flat, fully paved paths past wooded gorges, baroque towns and riverside taverns.

Tour Program

Day 1: Arrival in Passau
Individual arrival in Passau. You will check in, collect your bike (depending on your arrival time the bike handover may take place on Day 2) and receive your travel information. Your stay also includes a Three Rivers sightseeing boat tour in Passau, which you can enjoy during your visit.

Days 2–4: Day rides from Passau
From your hotel in the heart of Passau you will head out on a choice of signposted day routes along the Danube, Inn and Ilz. All routes are flat and fully paved, and they can be freely combined, shortened or planned to suit you.

Ship ride to Obernzell and the Danube Loop (approx. 53 km)
In the early morning you will take the excursion boat to Obernzell. From there you will cycle to Schlögen, the gateway to the famous Danube Loop, where the river swings through a full 180 degrees. You will ride beneath steep, densely wooded hillsides and pause at the world-famous Schlögener Blick viewpoint, reached on a short hike. Riverside taverns tempt with regional specialities before you return to Passau by ship.

Inn Cycle Path to Schärding (approx. 33 km)
Leaving the Three Rivers City, you will pedal through the green floodplains of the River Inn, crossing again and again between Austrian and German soil. You will pass the old skipper town of Wernstein, watched over by two castles, before reaching the baroque jewel of Schärding.

To the Abbey of Engelszell (approx. 54 km)
Today you will follow the Danube Cycle Path through charming countryside, passing Obernzell castle and the "Haus am Strom" exhibition centre until you reach the monastery of Engelhartszell, which you cross to by ferry. You will return to Passau along the opposite riverbank.

Danube Cycle Path to Schweiklberg Monastery (approx. 50 km)
The classic Danube Cycle Path leads you through a picturesque narrow valley in the southern foothills of the Bavarian Forest to Vilshofen, the "Little Three Rivers City", where the Vils and the Wolfach meet the Danube. High above the town stands the Benedictine monastery of Schweiklberg.

The Customer may withdraw from the contract (cancel) at any time prior to commencement of the tour. Cancellation must be effected in writing. In the event of cancellation or no-show the following cancellation fees shall become due in relation to the tour price:

Up to the 28th day prior to departure 20%, however at least 50.- euros per person.

From the 27th day until the 14th day prior to departure 30%.

From the 13th day until the 8th day prior to departure 50%.

From the 7th until the 4th day prior to departure 70%.

From the 3rd day or with no-show for the tour 90%.
