• What is the daily distance?

  

  Stages range from 38 to 65 km per day, with an average of about 50 km. The terrain is mostly flat to gently rolling along the river valley.

• What type of bike is best for this tour?

  

  A trekking bike is ideal for the well-paved Altmühl cycle path. E-bikes are also available if you prefer extra support on the longer stages.

• How much does bike rental cost?

  

  A trekking bike costs €90 for the full tour, and an e-bike is €200. Rental bikes are ready at your first hotel and collected at the last.

• How do I get back to Rothenburg at the end?

  

  A return bus runs every Saturday (plus Fridays in June and September) for €45. On other days a train connection is available for €25, departing Regensburg around 9:35 with 2–3 changes.

• Is luggage transported between hotels?

  

  Yes. Daily luggage transfer is included, with pick-up at 9:00 and delivery by approximately 18:30. Liability coverage of €1,000 per person is included.

• What meals are included?

  

  Daily breakfast buffet is included. Half-board (5 dinners) and a beer culinary option (3 dinners + 3 brewery tastings) are available as optional upgrades.

• Is half board available?

  

  Yes, half board is available as a supplement: €154 for 5 evenings (a 3-course dinner with a choice of main course; not served in Beilngries and Kelheim).

• Is the Crystal Museum in Riedenburg always open?

  

  The museum is closed on Mondays. If your itinerary falls on a Monday in Riedenburg, your host can advise on alternative timing.

• Can I bring my own bike?

  

  Yes. If you also book your return transfer by bus or train, your own bike can be transported back to Rothenburg for €38. This must be booked in advance, and bikes must be registered beforehand.

• Are the hotels family-friendly?

  

  Yes, the tour welcomes families. Children receive discounts: free up to age 6, 50% off ages 7–11, and 25% off ages 12–15 (one child per double room with two full-paying adults).
