• How do I get back to Trier?

  

  Regional trains run daily from Treis-Karden to Trier. Bikes travel free on weekdays from 9 a.m. and all day on weekends. The ticket costs approx. €23 and can be added at booking.

• Why is mid-summer the cheapest season?

  

  The Moselle follows wine-country demand: spring blossom and autumn harvest are peak periods, while late June to mid-July sees lower occupancy — great value for savvy travellers.

• Is the route hilly?

  

  No — the cycle path stays flat along the river. The famous vineyards climb the hillsides, but you ride at water level.

• Is half-board available?

  

  No, demi-board is not offered on this tour. Breakfast is included and there are excellent riverside restaurants each evening.

• Can I visit Cochem?

  

  Cochem is just a short detour on Day 4. The town and its iconic Reichsburg castle are well worth a stop.

• Can I have my own bike transported back?

  

  Yes. If you bring your own bike, the operator can transport it back for €38 per bike (no commission). This must be booked in advance — it cannot be purchased on site — and is available only together with the return passenger transfer. The operator accepts no liability for any damage in transit. Handover is by overnight transfer on Thursday, Friday or Saturday only: drop your bike at your last hotel by 17:00 the day before departure, and it will be ready for collection in Trier at approximately 11:00 the next day. Rims wider than 5 cm are accepted on request only, insurance cover is up to €1,500, and all bikes must be pre-registered.
