Short Description

With the Dolomites as your constant companion, you will enjoy fantastic rides at the foot of the Pale Mountains along comfortable cycle paths, including the classic Dobbiaco–Lienz route. You will explore the side valleys of Sesto and Val Casies and pedal along the old railway line all the way to Cortina d'Ampezzo. Staying at the same hotel in Alta Pusteria throughout, you will set out each morning on a different day trip — no need to pack and unpack. Families and beginners are warmly encouraged to opt for e-bikes, available for adults and children alike.

Tour Program

Day 1: Arrival in Alta Pusteria (Dobbiaco/Villabassa)
Individual arrival at the hotel. Free unguarded parking available nearby.

Day 2: Along the Val Pusteria Cycle Path by the River Rienza (25–60 km)
Starting from the highest point at 1,250 m, the cycle path winds along the River Rienza through the valley's villages all the way to Brunico, where you will pause to visit the castle, the Reinhold Messner Museum, or the Provincial Museum of Folk Traditions at Teodone. Fitter riders will continue into the Valle Aurina to visit Tures Castle. Return transfer from Brunico in the afternoon.

Day 3: Val di Sesto, Framed by the Dolomites (40 km)
Today the cycle path will guide you through the Val Fiscalina. Some of the most beautiful Dolomite peaks will greet you from above as you pedal through the enchanting Val di Sesto. Leaving the valley, you will reach San Candido. After a refreshing pause at the source of the River Drava, you will return to the hotel.

Day 4: The Drava Cycle Path along the Classic Dobbiaco–Lienz Route (50–55 km)
You will leave Dobbiaco/Villabassa for San Candido, cross the Italian border near Prato alla Drava, and begin a gentle descent all the way to Lienz at the confluence of the Isel and Drava rivers — one of Austria's sunniest areas, with an average of 2,000 hours of sunshine per year. Return transfer in the afternoon.

Day 5: The Old Railway Cycle Path: Transfer to Cortina d'Ampezzo, Return by Bike (30–35 km)
A morning transfer will take you to Cortina; from there you will pedal back toward Dobbiaco along the old Dolomites railway. You will ride through illuminated tunnels, reach Cimabanche, descend past the panoramic viewpoint over the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, and arrive at Lake Dobbiaco before returning to the hotel. Fitter riders may skip the morning shuttle and cycle both ways (approx. 60–70 km).

Day 6: Val Casies (55 km)
The final riding day will take you through a valley defined by traditional farmsteads and deep tranquillity. At Monguelfo you will visit the castle, or you may stop at Villabassa for a regenerating Kneipp experience.

Day 7: Dobbiaco/Villabassa, Departure
Individual departure or possibility to extend the stay.
