Short Description
Cycle from the Guadiana River to the southwestern tip of Portugal on this 9-day self-guided Algarve tour. Old mines, salt pans and golden cliffs mark a route that grows wilder the further west you ride. You will start in hilltop Mértola and follow the Guadiana down to the sea, dipping briefly into Spain. Then the Algarve coast unfolds: the Ria Formosa estuary, historic Tavira and Faro, a mountain bike stage through pine hills to Lagos, and finally the ocean cliffs near Sagres.
