Short Description

A 6-day self-guided gravel bike tour from Villach to Trieste covering 283 km across three countries. Follow the Alpe Adria route through alpine valleys, UNESCO Cividale del Friuli, Slovenian wine hills, and along the Adriatic coast. From €619 per person with luggage transfer and GPS.

Tour Program

Day 1: Arrival in Villach
You will arrive in Villach, a welcoming Austrian town at the confluence of the Drava and Gail rivers, at the edge of the Klagenfurt basin. Parking is available nearby.

Day 2: Villach – Malborghetto and surroundings (approx. 50 km)
Following the Gail river, you will leave Villach and cross into Italy after just a few kilometres. The Val Canale stretches ahead, its centre Tarvisio sitting at the crossroads of Italian, Austrian, and Slovenian cultures — a place where three worlds meet and merge.

Day 3: Malborghetto – Cividale del Friuli (approx. 79 km)
From Pontebba to Carnia, you will ride the celebrated Alpe Adria cycle path to Gemona del Friuli. The mountains soften, the landscape opens. You will continue to Cividale del Friuli, a UNESCO World Heritage town. The medieval Ponte del Diavolo spanning the emerald Natisone river is the day's unforgettable image.

Day 4: Cividale del Friuli – Vipava and surroundings (approx. 74 km)
This stage blends Italian and Slovenian landscapes. You will cross into Slovenia and ride through a magnificent wine region, where vineyards and orchards carpet the hills as far as the eye can see. Vipava, nestled in a fertile valley beneath the Julian Alps, is renowned for its local wines and warm hospitality.

Day 5: Vipava – Trieste (approx. 65 km)
The final stage traverses atmospheric Slovenian scenery before arriving at the coastal city of Trieste. You will ride on quiet roads with glimpses of the sea, through picturesque coastal villages. In Trieste, historic architecture, a grand waterfront, and a unique Italian-Slovenian cultural fusion will provide a perfect finale to your tour.

Day 6: Trieste – End of tour
Individual departure or possibility to extend your stay.
