Short Description

Discover the Stockholm Archipelago's most remote and beautiful islands on this unique 7-day cycling tour. Ride through nature reserves, explore Vaxholm and Dalarö, and reach the outermost islands of Utö and Ålö — where white sandy beaches and untouched wilderness meet the open sea.

Tour Program

Day 1: Arrival in Stockholm
Check in to your centrally located 4-star hotel. Stockholm's 14 islands, connected by 57 bridges, offer endless sightseeing — from waterfront restaurants to world-class museums.

Day 2: Stockholm to Vaxholm (41 km)
Cycle around the green oasis of Royal Djurgården, passing charming cafés and museums like the Vasa and ABBA museums. A small ferry carries you to the Bogesundslandet nature reserve before you cross to Vaxholm, the unofficial capital of the archipelago, with its narrow alleys and waterside restaurants.

Day 3: Vaxholm to Saltsjöbaden (53 km)
Ferry to the idyllic island of Tynningö, then onward to Farstalandet — a cycle-friendly nature area where a key scene from Ingmar Bergman's The Seventh Seal was filmed. Pass the Artipelag modern art museum and the porcelain town of Gustavsberg before arriving at your seaside hotel in Saltsjöbaden.

Day 4: Saltsjöbaden to Smådalarö (46 km)
Ride through the car-free Erstaviken nature area and into Tyresta National Park — 5,000 hectares of centuries-old forest, glittering lakes and abundant wildlife. Cross to the well-preserved island of Dalarö, filming location for Bergman's Wild Strawberries, and continue to Smådalarö Gård Hotel & Spa for a luxurious evening.

Day 5: Smådalarö to Utö (41 km)
Return to charming Dalarö village before taking ferries via the island of Ornö — a place of beautiful forests and soul-stirring views. Arrive by boat taxi at Utö, one of the archipelago's outermost islands. Your accommodation, Utö Värdshus, was singled out by National Geographic for its coziness and award-winning cuisine.

Day 6: Utö, Ålö & return to Stockholm (36 km)
Explore Utö's smooth waterside rocks and white sandy beaches, then cross to Ålö — the wildest island in the archipelago, with breathtaking views, enchanting forests and a free horizon. Return to Stockholm by scenic ferry or ferry-and-train combination for a final evening in the capital.

Day 7: Departure
Tour ends after breakfast. Consider extra nights to explore Stockholm further.
