Short Description

Explore Sweden's south coast at a relaxed pace on this 8-day Sydkustleden cycling tour from Simrishamn to Helsingborg. An extra overnight in Skanör/Falsterbo gives you time to savour the Falsterbo peninsula's beaches and birdwatching before riding into Malmö — 262 km on dedicated cycle paths with luggage transfers.

Tour Program

Day 1 – Arrival in Simrishamn
Check in to your centrally located hotel in this charming Österlen village. Wander the harbour and cobblestone streets as you prepare for a week along the Swedish Riviera.

Day 2 – Simrishamn to Ystad (53 km)
Ride through open landscapes past ancient rock carvings and golden rapeseed fields. Visit the mighty Ale Stones, explore local vineyards, and relax at the pristine Sandhammaren beach before arriving in the medieval town of Ystad — famous as the home of Inspector Wallander.

Day 3 – Ystad to Trelleborg (47 km)
Follow the coastline through picturesque fishing villages. Along the Mossby–Hörte stretch the sea is your constant companion. Don't miss Smygehuk, the southernmost point in Sweden, with its panoramic views from the lighthouse.

Day 4 – Trelleborg to Skanör/Falsterbo (27 km)
A shorter stage through ancient landscapes dotted with Bronze Age mounds and dolmens. Arrive at the Falsterbo peninsula — one of the world's best birdwatching sites — with its blindingly white beaches and colourful bathing cabanas. Search for amber washed ashore after winter storms.

Day 5 – Skanör/Falsterbo to Malmö (51 km)
Pedal through open countryside past farm shops selling local produce, watching the skyline of Malmö rise ahead. Explore Sweden's unofficial falafel capital, stroll Ribersborg Beach and admire the iconic 54-storey Turning Torso.

Day 6 – Malmö to Landskrona (57 km)
Enjoy sea breezes and horse paddocks. Swim at Lomma Beach, visit the Viking open-air museum at Löddeköpinge, see a classic Skåne windmill, and end the day at Landskrona with its beautiful harbour.

Day 7 – Landskrona to Helsingborg (27 km)
A short final ride past the 16th-century Citadellet fortress, the idyllic fishing village of Borstahusen, and the glacial hills of Glumslövs Backar. Optional ferry to the island of Ven adds 12 km. Arrive in vibrant Helsingborg.

Day 8 – Departure
Tour ends after breakfast. Continue north onto Kattegattleden or make your way home.
