Kattegattleden - West Sweden Coast Cycling (8 Days)

Day 1 – Arrival in Helsingborg
Check in to your centrally located hotel in this beautiful medieval town by the sea. Explore the harbour area and the iconic Kärnan tower before your coastal journey begins.

Day 2 – Helsingborg to Ängelholm (62 km)
Start with staggering views of the Öresund strait and Danish Zealand. Pass Sofiero Castle — its gardens voted the most beautiful in Europe — then ride around the dramatic Kullahalvön peninsula with its rocky landscapes and nature reserves. Stop in Höganäs for Skåne's finest farm shops and vineyards before reaching the 500-year-old town of Ängelholm.

Day 3 – Ängelholm to Halmstad (60 km)
Climb gently into the heart of Bjäre peninsula through small-scale agricultural countryside before a thrilling descent into Båstad. Catch the train onward to Halmstad (bike-friendly, ~€10-20), or ride the full 94 km stretch past one of Sweden's longest sandy beaches.

Day 4 – Halmstad to Falkenberg (57 km)
Head west to Tylösand, one of the west coast's most beloved beaches, then ride through Frösakull, Ringenäs and Vilshärad. The landscape shifts from barren and stony to lush farmland around the charming village of Steninge before you reach medieval Falkenberg.

Day 5 – Falkenberg to Varberg (39 km)
The shortest and most relaxed stage. Ride through Falkenberg's medieval centre, pass the famous windsurfing beach at Apelviken, and arrive at the imposing Varberg Fortress perched on the cliffs. Rest in leafy Societetsparken after an easy day.

Day 6 – Varberg to Kungsbacka (72 km)
The scenery transforms — sandy beaches give way to rocky cliffs and offshore islands. Ride past the beautiful beaches of Åsa, make a detour to Tjolöholm Castle (Sweden's only Tudor castle), and end in Kungsbacka, one of western Sweden's largest trade centres.

Day 7 – Kungsbacka to Gothenburg (63 km)
The grand finale along the Kungsbacka fjord through the seaside village of Särö, past cliffs, lush forests and small harbours. Pass Klippan Culture Reserve and follow the Göta älv river into the heart of Gothenburg, finishing at the Opera House and Lilla Bommen harbour.

Day 8 – Departure
Tour ends after breakfast in Gothenburg. Stay on to explore Sweden's second city or head home with unforgettable coastal memories.
