Paris, Chantilly & Pierrefonds by Boat and E-Bike: Lagny-sur-Marne to Soissons

Day 1 - Lagny-sur-Marne, near Paris (0 km)
Boarding from 2:00 PM in Lagny-sur-Marne, a quiet riverside town on the eastern edge of Paris. The captain and crew show you the ship, you are fitted to your e-bike and take a short test ride. Welcome drink and dinner on board.

Day 2 - Lagny-sur-Marne to Paris (46 km)
The first ride follows the Marne towards Paris, on green river paths through the eastern suburbs. You pass the Chateau de Champs-sur-Marne, an 18th-century country estate with furnished salons and formal gardens. Where the Marne joins the Seine the landscape turns urban, and the ship moors in the heart of Paris.

Day 3 - Paris to Bougival, then the Impressionist loop (42 km)
The morning is spent on deck as the ship cruises the Seine through Paris, with the Eiffel Tower passing by. From Bougival you ride the elegant western suburbs and the Ile des Impressionnistes, where Monet and Renoir painted the river. A longer 54 km option is available. Evening in Bougival.

Day 4 - Bougival to Auvers-sur-Oise (59 km)
The longest day. You follow the Seine to Saint-Germain-en-Laye, with wide views back towards Paris, then reach Conflans-Sainte-Honorine where the Oise meets the Seine. The afternoon runs along the Oise to Auvers-sur-Oise, where Van Gogh spent his last weeks. His grave is a short walk from the mooring.

Day 5 - Beaumont to Pont-Sainte-Maxence (46 km)
The ship moves to Beaumont while you have breakfast. From there you ride upstream along the Oise through fields and small towns to the Chateau de Chantilly, with its royal stables and the Musee Conde (entrance included). The day ends at Pont-Sainte-Maxence, named after its medieval bridge.

Day 6 - Pont-Sainte-Maxence to Compiegne (15 km)
A short, easy stage through the southern edge of the Forest of Compiegne, once a royal hunting ground. Compiegne has a palace and gardens worth an afternoon walk. Dinner is not served on board tonight, so you eat in town.

Day 7 - Compiegne to Soissons (37 km)
Shaded forest avenues lead to the Chateau de Pierrefonds, all towers, battlements and drawbridge (entrance included). You end in Soissons, one of the oldest cities in France and once capital of the Frankish kingdom, with its cathedral, markets and small squares. A longer 52 km option is available.

Day 8 - Soissons (0 km)
Breakfast on board, then disembarkation at 9:30 AM. From Soissons, the train to Paris Gare du Nord takes about 1 hour 15 minutes.
