Short Description

Ride through the legendary Medoc wine region on a 6-day cycling loop from Bordeaux. Pedal the Route des Chateaux past Margaux, Pauillac, and Lafite Rothschild, then cruise Atlantic coast cycle paths through pine forests to Lacanau Ocean.

Tour Program

Day 1 — Arrival in Bordeaux, transfer to Le Pian Medoc
Taxi transfer from Bordeaux station or airport. Welcome pack and bike delivery at your 3-star hotel in the heart of the Haut-Medoc.

Day 2 — The Route des Chateaux | 25–38 km
From Le Pian Medoc, ride along the Gironde toward Margaux, Moulis, and Saint-Julien. Pass legendary wine estates, charming harbours, and picture-perfect vineyards. Dinner and overnight in Margaux or Moulis.

Day 3 — Vineyards reflected on the Gironde | 50–60 km
Pedal through rolling vineyards and marshes, stopping at Brion archaeological site, Vertheuil Abbey, and Fort Medoc. Reach Pauillac with its grand crus — Latour, Lafite Rothschild, Mouton Rothschild — before a charming guesthouse set among the vines. Dinner included.

Day 4 — Towards the Atlantic | 62 km
Leave the vineyards for the wild Medoc coast. Cross marshes to reach Hourtin-Plage with its sweeping dunes, then ride marked paths through pine forests along Carcan-Hourtin lake — one of France's largest freshwater lakes — to Lacanau Ocean. Overnight in a 4-star hotel between lake and ocean.

Day 5 — Heart of Haut-Medoc | 53 km
Follow the scenic Green Track along the old railway through a stunning pine corridor, then ride back to Le Pian Medoc. End your loop where it started.

Day 6 — Departure
Taxi transfer to Bordeaux station or airport.
