Short Description

Explore the legendary vineyards of Bordeaux on this 6-night self-guided tour from Pauillac. You will ride the Route des Grands Crus past Lafite Rothschild, Latour, and Mouton Rothschild, then cross the Gironde estuary by boat to the imposing Citadel of Blaye. Continue through Pomerol and the UNESCO World Heritage town of Saint-Émilion with an extra day to explore its vineyards and villages. Finish along the Roger Lapébie bike path into the heart of UNESCO-listed Bordeaux.

Tour Program

Day 1: Arrival in Bordeaux – Transfer to Pauillac
Arrive at Bordeaux train station or airport and transfer by taxi to Pauillac. Your bike and road book will be waiting at your hotel.

Day 2: Pauillac – Moulis or Margaux (40–50 km; +100 m)
Ride the Route des Grands Crus from Pauillac through the legendary vineyards past Château Lafite Rothschild, Latour, and Mouton Rothschild. Continue through Saint-Julien to the village of Margaux and its iconic château.

Day 3: Moulis – Bourg-sur-Gironde (40–55 km; +165 m)
Ride to Lamarque and board a ferry across the broad Gironde estuary. Visit the Citadel of Blaye, then cycle the Corniche Fleurie to the architectural gem of Bourg-sur-Gironde.

Day 4: Bourg – Saint-Émilion (40–50 km; +240 m)
Cross three prestigious appellations in one ride: Fronsac, Pomerol with Château Pétrus, and finally the UNESCO-listed vineyards of Saint-Émilion.

Day 5: Saint-Émilion Loop (25–35 km; +100 m)
An optional loop through the eastern Saint-Émilion jurisdiction. Reach Castillon-la-Bataille and return along the Dordogne. Enjoy wine tastings in the village.

Day 6: Saint-Émilion – Bordeaux (50 km; +220 m)
Cross the Dordogne at Branne and join the Roger Lapébie bike path through Entre-Deux-Mers to Créon and on to Bordeaux's Place de la Bourse and Miroir d'Eau.

Day 7: Departure from Bordeaux
Departure after breakfast.
