Short Description

The complete crossing of Bordeaux's greatest vineyards. Ride through Médoc, Saint-Émilion, Sauternes, and Graves over nine days, past legendary châteaux, UNESCO sites, and the Gironde Estuary.

Tour Program

Day 1: Arrival in Bordeaux
You will arrive in the heart of Bordeaux, UNESCO World Heritage city and gateway to the world's most celebrated wine regions. You will receive your bike and road book at your hotel, steps away from the magnificent Place des Quinconces and the Cité du Vin.
Night and breakfast in hotel.

Day 2: Bordeaux – Pauillac (75 km; +125 m)
Your journey begins along the quays of the Garonne before you ride deep into the legendary Haut-Médoc. The route takes you past world-renowned estates — Château Margaux, Château Latour — where manicured vines stretch to the horizon. You will arrive in Pauillac, the very heart of Grands Crus country, with breathtaking views where viticulture and nature blend in perfect harmony.
Night and breakfast in hotel.

Day 3: Pauillac – Royan (75 km; +120 m)
From Pauillac, you will ride past Château Mouton Rothschild and the striking Cos d'Estournel before entering the wilder landscapes of the northern Médoc, where wet meadows and the "Petite Camargue" reveal a different face of the region. The ocean coast leads you to Soulac-sur-Mer and the Pointe de Grave lighthouse. You will then board a ferry across the mighty Gironde Estuary, with the Cordouan lighthouse on the horizon, to reach the seaside resort of Royan.
Night and breakfast in hotel.

Day 4: Royan – Blaye (85 km; +200 m)
You will ride along the white limestone cliffs and sandy beaches of the Charente coastline, past the iconic carrelets fishing huts and the charming port of Meschers. The medieval village of Talmont-sur-Gironde, perched above the estuary, and its Romanesque church of Sainte-Radegonde will enchant you. The route then crosses salt marshes teeming with birdlife before arriving at Blaye, dominated by its imposing Vauban Citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Night and breakfast in hotel.

Day 5: Blaye – Saint-Émilion (76 km; +350 m)
The Route de la Corniche takes you from Blaye along cliff-side troglodyte dwellings to the ancient village of Bourg, nestled on its dramatic perch above the Gironde. You will ride through the rolling Fronsac vineyards overlooking the Dordogne, past the legendary Château Petrus in Pomerol, and arrive in the medieval jewel of Saint-Émilion — the first wine-growing landscape to earn UNESCO World Heritage status.
Night and breakfast in hotel.

Day 6: Saint-Émilion – Castillon-la-Bataille – Saint-Émilion (25–35 km; +100 m)
A relaxed loop takes you from Saint-Émilion along the banks of the Dordogne to Castillon-la-Bataille, the historic site where the final battle of the Hundred Years' War was fought in 1453. The town's rich architectural heritage and riverside gastronomy make for a rewarding detour before you return to Saint-Émilion for the evening.
Night and breakfast in hotel.

Day 7: Saint-Émilion – Sauternes (65–75 km; +450 m)
You will ride through the undulating green countryside of the Entre-Deux-Mers, past the medieval château of Rauzan and the bastide town of Sauveterre-de-Guyenne. The route leads along the banks of the Garonne through Saint-Macaire and Langon, before you enter the golden territory of Sauternes, where the world's most celebrated sweet wines are born. Château d'Yquem, Bordeaux's only Premier Cru Supérieur, will be your final landmark of the day.
Night and breakfast in hotel.

Day 8: Sauternes – Bordeaux (60–70 km; +150 m)
Your final stage takes you through the prestigious Graves and Pessac-Léognan appellations. You will pass through the village of La Brède, birthplace of Montesquieu, and Martillac, home to the magnificent Château Smith Haut Lafitte. The route carries you gently back into the heart of Bordeaux, completing a grand circuit through the world's most celebrated wine country.
Night and breakfast in hotel.
