What is the daily cycling distance?
Stages range from 30 to 61 km per day, with most days around 40–55 km. The terrain is predominantly flat along the lakeside, making this tour suitable for recreational cyclists. Optional detours can add extra kilometres if you want more riding.
When is the best time to go?
The tour runs from mid-April to mid-October. Late spring and early autumn offer pleasant temperatures and quieter roads. Summer is warmest but coincides with the Bregenz Festival, which may mean overnight stays in nearby towns.
What type of bike do I need?
A trekking bike is ideal for the well-paved cycle paths. Rental trekking bikes and e-bikes are available as add-ons. You are also welcome to bring your own bike.
Is luggage transferred between hotels?
Yes, daily luggage transport is included. Bags are picked up at 9:00 a.m. (8:45 in Bregenz) and delivered to your next hotel by approximately 6:30 p.m.
Do I need to cross borders?
Yes, the route passes through Austria, Switzerland and Germany. EU/EEA citizens travel freely; others should check visa requirements for all three countries.
Are meals included?
Daily breakfast is included. A demi-board option with three dinners can be added for a supplement. Lunches and other meals are at your own expense.
Can I park my car in Bregenz?
Free public parking is available approximately 3–4 km from the start hotel. Closer paid parking costs around 6–10 euros per day. Underground parking at the hotel can be booked in advance for the duration of the tour.
Is the route well signposted?
Yes, you receive a detailed tour book with maps, a customised itinerary and GPS data. A service hotline is available daily if you need assistance along the way.
