Short Description

A compact 6-day Danube cycling tour from Linz to Vienna on the most beautiful part of the river: Grein, Melk Abbey, the UNESCO-listed Wachau with Dürnstein and Krems, and the garden city of Tulln before Vienna. From €415 per person.

Tour Program

Day 1 — Arrival in Linz
You will arrive in Linz, the cultural capital of Upper Austria, and check in to your 4-star hotel, where your travel documents are waiting. Rental bikes (if booked) are collected at the Donau Touristik office. Parking is free in the public side streets, or at the hotel for a fee paid on site.

Day 2 — Linz → Grein (56 km)
You will cycle along the left bank of the Danube via Mauthausen to the little town of Grein with its castle. Overnight in a 3-star hotel.

Day 3 — Grein → Mitterarnsdorf/Spitz (64 km)
You will follow the cycle path to Marbach, past the impressive Melk Abbey and through the vineyards into the Wachau valley. Overnight in a 3-star hotel.

Day 4 — Mitterarnsdorf/Spitz → Tulln (59 km)
Through the vineyards of Dürnstein and Krems you will ride on to Tulln, the city of flowers. Overnight in a 3-star hotel.

Day 5 — Tulln → Vienna (40 km)
Through the foothills of the Vienna Woods past Klosterneuburg Abbey you will reach Vienna. Overnight in a 4-star hotel.

Day 6 — Departure
Your tour ends after breakfast. Travel home or extend your stay with extra nights in Vienna.
