The complete Bordeaux-to-ocean cycling experience: ride through the Sauternes vineyards, cross the Landes pine forest, then explore both sides of Arcachon Bay including Cap Ferret and the Dune du Pyla. Seven nights of easy riding.

Tour Program

Day 1: Arrival in Bordeaux – Transfer to Cadillac
You will arrive in Bordeaux by train or plane. A taxi will take you to Cadillac, where your adventure begins. Settle into your hotel and collect your guidebook. The small town of Cadillac, on the banks of the Garonne, offers a gentle introduction to the Gironde countryside.

Day 2: The Entre-Deux-Mers (44 km; +430 m)
You will cycle through the Premières Côtes de Bordeaux, where vineyards cascade down to the Garonne. The route passes the Château Malromé and the Domaine de Malagar. You will cross the old merchant town of Saint-Macaire before reaching the bastide of Cadillac.

Day 3: Through the Sauternes Vineyards to the Landes Forest (45–50 km; +175 m)
You will cross to the left bank of the Garonne and enter the world-famous Sauternes vineyards, home to Château d’Yquem. At Balizac, you enter the Regional Natural Park of Landes de Gascogne. The day ends in the charming village of Saint-Symphorien.

Day 4: Through the Landes de Gascogne (55–60 km; +100 m)
A lovely forest road takes you westward through dense pine forest. Discover the hidden Lagoons of Gât-Mort and the Lakes of Hostens. The road winds to Le Barp, where a charming stone-built hotel with a swimming pool awaits.

Day 5: Towards Arcachon Bay and the Ocean (50 km; +0 m)
You will cycle to Le Teich where the park meets the sea, then follow the coastal path through salt air to Arcachon.

Day 6: Cap Ferret (20 km; +20 m)
You will take the boat across the bay to Cap Ferret. Climb the lighthouse for sweeping views, then cycle to the oyster village of L’Herbe and the Tapper’s Shack. Catch the last boat back.

Day 7: The Dune du Pyla or Audenge (25–60 km; +100 m)
A day of choices: follow the coastal track south to the astonishing Dune du Pyla, tallest sand dune in Europe, or head to Le Teich, Biganos, and Audenge. Stop at the ornithological park, the port of Biganos, or the Domaine de Certes. A final evening by the sea.
Night and breakfast in hotel 3 or 4\*.

Day 8: Departure
Take the train from Arcachon to Bordeaux (approximately 1 hour).
