Alpe Adria Mallnitz to Grado

Day 1 — Arrival in Mallnitz
Arrive at your 3-star hotel nestled in the Hohe Tauern mountains. Collect your travel documents and rental bike (if booked). Parking at the hotel or the nearby public car park (3-minute walk) is included for the whole tour. Enjoy a welcome dinner at the hotel.

Day 2 — Mallnitz to Spittal/Seeboden (54 km)
Follow the Alpe-Adria cycle path along the valley floor to Obervellach and into the Drava valley. Pass Möllbrücke and continue to Seeboden on Lake Millstatt. If time allows, take the scenic, car-free lakeside detour to Sappl before returning to your 4-star hotel.

Day 3 — Spittal/Seeboden to Tarvisio (69 km, 312 m elevation)
A flat, largely car-free route along the Drava River via Paternion to Villach and its attractive historic old town. From here, the path climbs gently along the Gail River through Arnoldstein to Tarvisio, your overnight stop in a picturesque location.

Day 4 — Tarvisio to Carnia/Venzone/Gemona (52–64 km)
Cycle through the heart of the Alpe-Adria route — the old railway line through the narrow Fella valley to Pontebba. After a short stretch of road, continue to your overnight stop.

Day 5 — Carnia/Gemona to Udine (44–56 km)
Partly car-free, ride near the Tagliamento River or on side roads through the fertile Friuli countryside, passing Buia on your way to Udine. Explore this magnificent trading city — Piazza della Libertà, the Duomo, and the atmospheric old town.

Day 6 — Udine to Grado (55 km)
Ride to Palmanova with its Venetian fortress and continue to Aquileia. The route then leads through the lagoon landscape to the charming coastal town of Grado.

Day 7 — Departure
End of tour after breakfast, or book additional nights in Grado. A return bus from Grado to Mallnitz can be booked at extra cost on Saturdays and Sundays (15 May–23 October, departure approx. 9:00 from the central piazza, arrival approx. 14:30). On other days, own return journey to Mallnitz.
