Saronic Gulf Islands & Peloponnese Bike Cruise
Saronic Gulf & Peloponnese
Short Description
Eight days, one ship and five islands that never feel the same twice. You sleep on board in a twin cabin, wake up in a different harbour every morning and ride out with your guide through olive groves, pine woods and almost traffic-free coastal roads. You circle Poros, roll along the panoramic ring road of Spetses, walk the car-free lanes of Hydra, cross to the volcanic Methana peninsula and climb to the Temple of Aphaia on Aegina. In between there is always time to dive straight off the ship into the Aegean, and to come back on board to a warm meal cooked by the crew. Distances stay between 17 and 40 km a day, with some hills and up to 350 m of climbing, so you ride at a relaxed pace and still have the afternoon free. If you would rather swim or stay on deck, that is fine too: you decide, day by day, how much you cycle and how much you simply sail.

🙋 Common questions
How demanding is the cycling?
The tour is rated level 3 out of 5. You ride 17 to 40 km a day through hilly terrain, with 250 to 350 m of climbing and longer ascents of up to about 220 m. It suits people who cycle regularly and feel confident on varying surfaces. An e-bike makes every climb considerably easier.
Is the tour guided?
Yes. It is primarily a guided group tour with an English-speaking guide. After talking it over with your guides you can also ride some stages on your own along recommended routes, or skip a ride altogether and stay on board to swim and relax.
Which language is spoken on board?
Because the group is international, the tours are conducted bilingually in English and German.
Are bikes provided?
Yes, bikes are on board. E-bikes with a pannier are available at extra cost and should be booked in advance. Helmet use is mandatory on all rides: bring your own well-fitted helmet if you can, as the number of rental helmets on board is limited.
Can children join?
Children in good physical condition from the age of 10, with previous bike touring experience, can manage the daily rides. The minimum height is 1.30 m for a hybrid bike and 1.50 m for an e-bike.
How do I pay for extras on board?
Drinks and other on-board extras are noted on a tally sheet and settled in cash, in euro, with the captain. Credit cards are not accepted on board.
How many people are in the group?
Between 14 and 18 guests, depending on the ship.
