Short Description

Cycle from Porto to Lisbon along Portugal's stunning Atlantic coast. This 8-day self-guided tour links two of Europe's most vibrant cities through golden beaches, pine forests, charming fishing villages, and the medieval walled town of Obidos.

Tour Program

Day 1 — Porto | UNESCO World Heritage city, world-famous for Port Wine
Welcome to Porto, famous for its Port wine, one of the most beautiful cities in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Let yourself get immersed in the authenticity of the typical neighbourhoods and their people, the more than 150 monuments, and the flavours that mark an identity. Finish your day toasting the excellent wine that shares the city's name.

Day 2 — Porto to Furadouro | Unique landscapes facing the sea, surrounded by pine forests (42 km)
Leave the hustle and bustle of the city for the peace and quiet of the Atlantic coast. Ride through the many small towns that nestle along the coast and, from time to time, in and out woods of pines. The day ends in Furadouro, a hospitable town renowned for its excellent fish.

Day 3 — Furadouro to Aveiro | Art Nouveau and colorful Moliceiro boats at the Portuguese Venice (41 km)
Take a trip on a Moliceiro, the brightly coloured hand painted wooden boats used for gathering seaweed, along the canals for which Aveiro is named Portuguese Venice. Ashore, tickle your taste buds and join a workshop to make a typical Aveiro pastry. Do not fail to visit the salt pans and enjoy the wonderfully soothing properties of sea salt as you soak your feet in small tubs. A pleasant ride along the Aveiro Ria.

Day 4 — Aveiro to Figueira da Foz | A unique blend between the cosmopolitanism inherited from the Belle Epoque and extensive beaches of soft white sand (35 km)
Leave the enchanting Aveiro for Figueira da Foz, cycling along the canal and through green fields. Visit Praia de Mira, a fishing village with the typical colourful wooden houses they call palheiros. At this point, a shared transfer is included to Figueira da Foz.

Day 5 — Figueira da Foz to Nazare | Picturesque village and a small sea resort (81 km)
This stage runs along the Portuguese Silver Coast and through the Pinhal de Leiria, the large pine forest planted in the 15th century to provide wood for the caravels. Follow the cycle path along the Estrada Atlantica, crossing Sao Pedro de Moel and on to Nazare, a town famous for its surfing and gigantic waves. Note: optional transfer available to reduce this distance to 42 km.

Day 6 — Nazare to Obidos | Charming, small, fortified town with narrow streets and white-washed houses (41 km)
Visit two of Portugal's most recognisable towns: Nazare, possibly Portugal's most famous fishing village, and Obidos, a small, fortified town reminiscent of a medieval film set. The town has been carefully preserved, and its inhabitants are proud to maintain the architectural style of bygone eras.

Day 7 — Lisbon | The stunning capital city of Portugal, and one of the most charismatic and vibrant cities of Europe
A transfer will take you from Obidos to your hotel in Lisbon. Take advantage of your last day to discover one of Europe's most beautiful capitals. Stroll through Alfama, Lisbon's oldest neighbourhood, and take the narrow-cobbled roads to reach the Castelo de Sao Jorge. Explore Bairro Alto, the bohemian haunt of artists and writers, and find traditional Fado restaurants.

Day 8 — End of the Porto to Lisbon bike tour
Transfer to Lisbon airport according to your flight schedule.
