Short Description

Ride the complete Velodyssee from La Rochelle to Biarritz on this epic 11-day Atlantic coast cycling adventure. Pedal through Charente-Maritime, the Medoc, Arcachon Bay, the Landes pine forests, and into the Basque Country.

Tour Program

Day 1 — Arrival in La Rochelle
Settle into your hotel and explore this historic harbour city with its medieval towers and arched walkways.

Day 2 — La Rochelle to Marennes | 59–70 km
Cycle along the coast through Chatelaillon, past Rochefort and its transporter bridge, through the marshes to Marennes, famous for its oyster production.

Day 3 — Marennes to Royan | 48 km
Ride through pine forests along the wild coast to La Palmyre and arrive in the lively resort town of Royan via Saint-Palais and Pontaillac.

Day 4 — Royan to Montalivet | 35–45 km
Ferry across the Gironde estuary to the Medoc coast. Cycle through Soulac's ocean beaches and pine-scented paths to the peaceful resort of Montalivet.

Day 5 — Montalivet to Lacanau Ocean | 35–40 km
Continue south on the Velodyssee between lakes and ocean through the pine forests. Arrive in Lacanau Ocean, a surfer's paradise.

Day 6 — Lacanau to Arcachon via Cap Ferret | 47 km
Discover the wild beaches of Porge Ocean, ride to Cap Ferret, then ferry across the bay to the renowned town of Arcachon.

Day 7 — Arcachon to Biscarrosse | 30 km
Climb the Great Dune of Pilat for breathtaking views, then cycle into the Landes pine forests to Biscarrosse.

Day 8 — Biscarrosse to Mimizan | 52 km
Ride alongside France's second-largest lake, through intimate lake ports and pine forests to the Belle Epoque resort of Mimizan.

Day 9 — Mimizan to the Landes coast | 55 km
A peaceful stage through woods scented with pine, discovering Contis Plage, Saint-Girons, and the beaches of Leon Lake.

Day 10 — Landes to Biarritz via Bayonne | 69 km
The grand finale: ride through Hossegor and Capbreton, enter the Basque Country through Bayonne, and arrive in legendary Biarritz.

Day 11 — Departure from Biarritz
Departure after breakfast.
