Vélodyssée: Arcachon to Biarritz

Day 1 — Welcome to Arcachon
Arrive at your hotel in Arcachon and collect your roadbook and bikes. Explore this renowned seaside resort born in the 19th century — stroll through the Winter Town with its sumptuous Second Empire villas, wander the promenade along the Basin and discover why Arcachon Bay, ringed by 84 km of pine-fringed beaches, is the undisputed kingdom of the oyster.

Day 2 — Arcachon to Biscarrosse Plage | 30–40 km · ↑ 100 m
Head south to the Great Dune of Pilat — a mandatory climb for the panoramic view over bay and ocean. Then pedal under the pines of the Landes forest, where the Vélodyssée threads between sea and sand. End the day in Biscarrosse, a surf-friendly resort backed by dunes and forest.

Day 3 — Biscarrosse to Mimizan Plage | 52 km · ↑ 115 m
Leave the coast for an inland loop past Cazaux-Sanguinet, France's second-largest lake, and the lake of Biscarrosse-Parentis. Weave through intimate lake ports before the cycle path delivers you back to the ocean at Mimizan Plage, a charming Belle Époque seaside town.

Day 4 — Mimizan to Moliets | 55 km · ↑ 130 m
A serene forest stage scented with pine resin. The Vélodyssée meanders through the woods with occasional detours to Contis Plage, Saint-Girons Plage and the beaches of Lac de Léon. Finish in the Landes countryside near Moliets.

Day 5 — Landes to Biarritz | 69 km · ↑ 120 m
The grand finale crosses from the Landes into the Basque Country. Pass the legendary surf spots of Hossegor and Capbreton, cycle through Bayonne and arrive in Biarritz — world-famous for its ocean beaches, thalassotherapy and vibrant nightlife.

Day 6 — Departure from Biarritz
