Porto to Coimbra Bike Tour

Day 1: Porto
You will arrive in Porto, where a transfer from the airport will bring you to your hotel in the heart of the city. Porto is a historic gem with more than 150 monuments inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage. Wander through its storied neighbourhoods, taste the local flavours that define its identity, and end the day raising a glass of the celebrated port wine that bears the city's name.

Day 2: Porto – Furadouro (42 km; +213 m)
Today you will leave the city behind and head for the peace of the Atlantic coast. You will pedal through small seaside towns nestled along the shore and through fragrant pine forests. The day ends in Furadouro, a welcoming fishing town renowned for its excellent fresh fish.

Day 3: Furadouro – Aveiro (41 km; +119 m)
A pleasant ride will carry you to Aveiro, known as the "Venice of Portugal" for its graceful canals and colourful Moliceiro boats. You will have time to glide through the waterways on one of these hand-painted vessels, admire the elegant Art Nouveau architecture, and taste the famous ovos moles, a local delicacy since the 16th century. Before reaching Aveiro, a stop at Costa Nova reveals its iconic candy-striped wooden houses — one of Portugal's most photographed sights.

Day 4: Aveiro – Mira (35 km; +94 m)
Today blends beaches, pine forests, and riverside paths. Mira, your overnight stop, is a small fishing village where colourful boats were once hauled ashore by oxen. You will be charmed by the brightly striped palheiros — traditional wooden fishermen's houses. Walk along the lagoon of Mira as the golden light of evening settles over the landscape.

Day 5: Mira – Figueira da Foz (58 km; +360 m)
The longest stage takes you south along the coast to Figueira da Foz, one of Portugal's liveliest seaside towns. You will cycle through pine-shaded trails and open stretches where the Atlantic breeze keeps you company. Figueira da Foz rewards you with its broad sandy beach — one of the widest in Europe — a lively promenade, and an excellent choice of fresh seafood restaurants.

Day 6: Figueira da Foz – Coimbra (45 km; +132 m)
You will follow the Mondego River inland through lush rice fields and green countryside all the way to Coimbra. The historic centre of this university city cascades down its hillside in a colourful patchwork of centuries-old buildings. Coimbra is home to one of Europe's oldest universities — founded in the 13th century, second only to Bologna — and on summer evenings the narrow streets echo with the haunting notes of the local Fado tradition.

Day 7: Coimbra – Porto
After breakfast, a transfer will bring you back to Porto airport. Your tour ends here.
