Paris to Montargis: Seine and Loing by Barge and Bike
Seine & Loing Valley
Short Description
You board in the middle of Paris, a short walk from Notre-Dame, and sail south while the city thins into river country. Over eight days you cycle the Seine and then the Loing with a tour leader beside you every day: the forest and palace of Fontainebleau, Barbizon, walled Moret-sur-Loing, Château-Landon on its rock, and finally the flower-banked canals of Montargis. Flat, easy riding, with your cabin and dinner waiting at the next mooring.

🙋 Common questions
How hard is the cycling?
Easy. The routes follow river valleys and towpaths and are almost flat, between 30 and 45 km on the short versions. On several days a longer variant is offered, and you can always stay on board and let the barge carry you to the next mooring.
Is a guide included?
Yes. The cycling is fully guided by a tour leader. From 18 guests the group is split in two, with two tour leaders.
What bike do I get?
A quality touring bike is included. A premium e-bike can be added for a supplement, on request at booking. Own bicycles cannot be carried on this ship for lack of deck space.
How do I get back to Paris from Montargis?
Trains run frequently between Montargis and Paris Gare de Lyon and take about an hour. A taxi between the barge and Montargis station can be arranged on board.
What is the group size?
The ship takes a maximum of 20 guests in 10 cabins, so the cycling groups stay small.
