French Riviera Cycling Tour

Day 1: Arrival in Hyères-Plage
Your Riviera adventure begins by the sea. You will make your own way to Hyères-Plage – the nearest airports are Nice and Marseille, and the TGV runs conveniently to Toulon and Hyères. Your hotel sits close to the beach, so the first evening is simply about salt air and the sound of the waves.

Day 2: Hyères-Plage – Hyères or Pierrefeu – Hyères-Plage (approx. 15–62 km)
Today you choose your own rhythm. A short ride will take you to the old town of Hyères, with its lanes and quiet squares. If you want more, you will follow the Route des Vins through vineyards and open countryside towards Pierrefeu. Stop at a traditional winery or château of the Côtes de Provence and taste a chilled rosé or freshly pressed olive oil.

Day 3: Hyères-Plage – Porquerolles island – Hyères-Plage (approx. 30 km)
Flamingos will watch you pass as you pedal to the boat station. A short crossing (payable locally) brings you to Porquerolles, a car-free island of olive groves, vineyards and small bays with white sand. You will ride at an easy pace between the Plage Notre-Dame, the fort and the lighthouse, stopping wherever the turquoise water calls.

Day 4: Hyères-Plage – Le Lavandou – Hyères-Plage (approx. 50 km)
Smooth cycle paths lead you across the old salt works, past vines and olive trees, with the sea only a few metres away. Your goal is Le Lavandou, a fishing village at the foot of the Massif des Maures. With a little extra effort – or an e-bike – you can add the detour up to Bormes-les-Mimosas for its panorama and old town.

Day 5: Hyères – Nice by train (day of rest)
A change of scene. You will leave the unspoilt coast behind and travel by train (included) to Nice, the capital of the Côte d'Azur. The rest of the day is yours: wander the old town, admire the elegant façades or step into one of the city's museums.

Day 6: Nice – Antibes – Nice (approx. 40–50 km)
The Promenade des Anglais will carry you along the Mediterranean to Antibes, a town of Greek origin known for its marina, its old town and the Picasso Museum. You will then loop around Cap d'Antibes, past its botanical garden and the holiday villas of the Riviera's high society.

Day 7: Grasse – Cannes – Antibes (approx. 40 km) or Nice city tour by bike (approx. 10 km, optional)
In the morning a train takes you up to Grasse, the world's perfume capital. From there a long descent begins, and quieter roads will lead you down to Cannes before the coastal road brings you to Antibes. Ride back to Nice along the Promenade or hop on the train. Prefer to stay in town? Join an optional guided city tour by bike, explore Nice at your own pace, or take the train to Monaco – just 25 minutes away.

Day 8: Departure from Nice
Before you leave, stroll through the Cours Saleya market, fill your bag with Provençal specialities and linger over a café au lait. Your cycling holiday ends here – or you can add extra nights, because Nice and its surroundings still have plenty to offer.
