Short Description

Cap Corse is Corsica's wild northern finger — a narrow peninsula of wind-sculpted cliffs, ancient Genoese watchtowers and tiny fishing harbours where the mountains tumble straight into the Mediterranean. Over seven days, you will cycle the entire coastline of this untamed promontory, riding from the charming port city of Bastia through sun-drenched hamlets, past secluded coves and over panoramic passes with views stretching to the islands of Elba and Capraia. The route follows quiet roads that cling to the rocky shore, passing through Erbalunga's stone-walled lanes, the marina village of Macinaggio, the lobster haven of Centuri and the breathtaking cliff-top village of Nonza with its famous black beach. You will finish with a ride through the celebrated vineyards of Patrimonio and a rewarding climb over the Col de Teghime before descending back to Bastia. With daily distances averaging 30 km and mostly gentle terrain — plus one satisfying mountain pass — this tour is accessible to all cyclists looking for an authentic, sun-soaked Corsican adventure.

Tour Program

Day 1: Arrival in Bastia
You will arrive in Bastia, the vibrant gateway to northern Corsica. Take time to wander through the lively old port, explore the hilltop citadel and soak up the atmosphere of this characterful Mediterranean city — the perfect prologue to a week of coastal discovery.

Day 2: Bastia – Sisco (16 km; +130 m / −130 m)
You will set off along the eastern shore of Cap Corse, hugging the coastline toward the enchanting fishing village of Erbalunga — stone houses clustered around a tiny harbour, widely considered one of the most beautiful hamlets in Haute-Corse. After lingering in its picturesque lanes, you will continue to the quiet village of Sisco for the night.

Day 3: Sisco – Macinaggio (22 km; +164 m / −170 m)
You will follow the coastal road northwards, the Mediterranean glittering on your right, with wild coves tempting you to stop for a swim at every turn. The day ends in Macinaggio, a peaceful marina village at the tip of the peninsula — the starting point of the famous Sentier des Douaniers customs officers' trail.

Day 4: Macinaggio – Albo (50 km; +818 m / −821 m)
The longest stage of the tour takes you over a small pass at the very tip of Cap Corse, with views of the island of Giraglia. You will then descend to the wild western coast, where mountains plunge into the sea and the road winds dramatically along rocky cliffs. A detour to Centuri is unmissable for lovers of fresh lobster. The landscape grows wilder with every kilometre as you ride south to Albo.

Day 5: Albo – Saint-Florent (24 km; +300 m / −296 m)
You will continue along the spectacular western coast with sweeping views toward the Désert des Agriates. The ride passes through Nonza, one of Corsica's most dramatic villages — perched high on a rock face above a striking black beach, crowned by a weathered Genoese tower. As you descend the peninsula, rugged cliffs give way to rolling vineyard hills and the celebrated wine village of Patrimonio before you reach the elegant harbour town of Saint-Florent.

Day 6: Saint-Florent – Bastia (23 km; +572 m / −510 m)
You will leave Saint-Florent and climb through the vineyards of Patrimonio to the Col de Teghime at 536 metres — the reward is a breathtaking panorama over the Gulf of Saint-Florent and the Agriates Desert. Then a magnificent descent unfolds before you, the road sweeping down toward the sea and back into Bastia for your final evening.

Day 7: Departure from Bastia
Your adventure ends after breakfast. Farewell to Cap Corse — until next time.
