Short Description

Discover the green Lot valley on this easy 6-night self-guided tour from Agen. You will ride gentle bike paths and quiet roads through orchards, vineyards, and medieval bastide towns. The route links the prune capital of Agen to the impressive fortress of Bonaguil, the perched villages of Pujols and Puy-l'Évêque, and the Cahors Malbec vineyards. Three dinners are included on this relaxed journey through one of France's most fertile and flavourful valleys.

Tour Program

Day 1: Arrival in Agen
Arrive at your 3-star hotel in Agen, the capital of the prune. Explore this city of 2,000 years of history, visit the Museum of Fine Arts with its five Goya paintings, and browse the farmers' markets.

Day 2: Agen – Le Temple-sur-Lot (59 km; +90 m)
Cross the famous canal bridge and ride the greenway to Buzet and its vineyards. Join the Lot valley cycle route at Aiguillon. Ride through majestic riverside landscapes to Le Temple-sur-Lot.

Day 3: Le Temple-sur-Lot – Villeneuve-sur-Lot (30 km; +40 m)
Ride through shaded roads lined with orchards of the famous Prune d'Ente. Pass old bridges and superb villages such as Casseneuil, Sainte-Livrade, and Pujols, one of the most beautiful villages of France.

Day 4: Villeneuve-sur-Lot – Fumel (35–50 km; +50 m)
Cycle through plum orchards along the Lot to the perched villages of Penne d'Agenais and Fumel. A stop at the Château de Bonaguil, an impressive fortress dominating the valley for 8 centuries, is unmissable.

Day 5: Fumel – Tournon d'Agenais (42–52 km; +250 m)
Enter the Lot department with its Cahors vineyards. Cycle to the medieval village of Puy-l'Évêque, then return to the Lot-et-Garonne and the perched village of Tournon d'Agenais.

Day 6: Tournon d'Agenais – Agen (55 km; +150 m)
The final stage winds through valleys and streams past the bastides of Montaigu de Quercy and Puymirol, and the perched village of Beauville, before descending back to Agen.

Day 7: Departure
Departure after breakfast.
