🙋 Common questions
How difficult is cycling in Kvarner Bay on this tour?
This is the hardest grade in the Croatian bike and boat range: the operator rates it level 4, for experienced cyclists, with 400 to 700 metres of climbing on a riding day. Stages run from 10 to 47 km on hilly island terrain. If you want the same islands at an easier pace, this is not the tour to choose.
How much does a boat and bike tour in Croatia cost?
Prices vary by departure date and cabin and are shown live on this page under Availability; the lowest bookable price is currently €2,049 per person. A gravel bike rents for €200 per week and an e-bike for €252 to €273. Tourist taxes and the basic drink package are €80 per person, paid on board.
When is the best time to cycle the Croatian islands?
The season runs from April to October. May, June, September and October bring mild temperatures and quiet island roads, which matters on a tour with this much climbing. July and August are hot and busier in Rab, Krk and Zadar, although the swim stops from the boat are at their best then.
Is this Kvarner Bay tour guided or self-guided?
It is guided. An English-speaking tour leader rides with the group on every cycling day, and overview maps for each stage are available on board. Guided walks are included in Cres and Zadar.
Where do you sleep on this Croatia bike and boat tour?
You sleep on board the Andela Lora, a deluxe-class motor yacht with seventeen cabins and a maximum of thirty-six guests. Cabins are twin, below deck, with private shower and toilet. Bed linen and towels are provided, cabins are cleaned daily and towels changed mid-week. The ship moors in a different harbour each night.
Which islands does this Kvarner Bay tour visit?
Seven: Krk, Cres, Lošinj, Molat, Dugi Otok, Pag and Rab, plus the mainland city of Zadar. Molat and Dugi Otok are among the quietest islands in the northern Adriatic, and the ridge road across Dugi Otok is almost free of traffic.
Do I need to bring my own bicycle to Croatia?
A bicycle is provided as part of the tour. A gravel bike can be rented for €200 per week and an e-bike for €252 to €273; bringing your own e-bike costs €28 for parking and charging on board. Helmets are mandatory on every stage and rental helmets are limited, so bring your own well-fitted one.
Is there a minimum age for this tour?
Ten. The operator states that only children with good physical condition and previous cycling experience can manage these stages under their own power, and at level 4 that is a real requirement rather than a formality. Rental e-bikes need a rider of at least 1.50 m.
