Kvarner Bay Plus Boat & Bike Tour

Day 1: Omišalj (embarkation) – Cres
You will arrive individually in Omišalj, a small harbour village on the island of Krk; if you drive, safe parking is arranged for you. Check-in on the motor yacht is between 2 and 2.30 p.m., and from 1 p.m. in 2027. At around 3 p.m. the ship casts off for the four-hour crossing to Cres, and in the evening you will walk through the Venetian old town.

Day 2: Cres – Martinšćica – Mali Lošinj (28 km)
After breakfast you will ride from the town of Cres to Martinšćica, where the ship is waiting. Lunch is served during the crossing to Lošinj and, if the weather allows, the captain will find a spot for a swim stop along the way. The day ends in the harbour of Mali Lošinj, a wellness town whose coloured facades and many cafes make for an easy evening.

Day 3: Lošinj – Veli Lošinj – Molat (10 or 22 km)
You will follow the seaside promenade to the south of Lošinj and stop at the picturesque little harbour of Veli Lošinj before meeting the ship for lunch. In the afternoon you will cross to Molat, where a second short ride is possible. The night is spent in a quiet harbour on the island.

Day 4: Molat – Dugi Otok – Savar – Zadar (32 km)
Over breakfast the ship leaves Molat and threads past small islands to Dugi Otok, the 'spice island'. Your ride starts in the bay of Božava, surrounded by pine, agave and tamarisk, on a road with almost no traffic. You will climb to a viewpoint at the northernmost tip of the island, where the old Austrian lighthouse of Veli Rat stands, then follow the island ridge with wide views over the surrounding islands to the bay of Savar. From there the ship crosses to Zadar, for centuries the political, cultural and spiritual centre of Dalmatia, where three thousand years have left the fortified walls and bastions, the loggia and the early Romanesque basilica of St Donatus. In the evening your guide will take you on a long walk through the city centre.

Day 5: Zadar – Island of Pag – Island of Rab (20 km)
A long morning crossing brings you to Pag. The landscape here is harsh and beautiful at once, scattered with fig and olive trees and crossed by the stone walls islanders built over centuries against the wind. Starting in Novalja you will cycle the narrow peninsula down to the sea, where the ship takes you on to Rab, one of the sunniest places in Europe. The town of Rab was built in the Middle Ages on a wedge-shaped headland, and its four bell towers are its symbol. After dinner there are narrow alleys and small cafes to explore.

Day 6: Island of Rab – Island of Krk (22 km)
Today you will get to know Rab on a ride around the island. At lunchtime the ship is waiting in the harbour in front of the old town, and the crossing towards Krk includes an anchor stop for a swim straight from the boat. You will reach Krk in the late afternoon and spend the evening in the historic town.

Day 7: Island of Krk – Vrbnik – Omišalj (47 km)
The longest ride of the week crosses the ridge of the island, covered in fragrant macchia, drops into a valley of vineyards and continues to the small museum town of Vrbnik in the north-east. Built on a fifty-metre cliff and ringed by vines, Vrbnik is the home of the white wine Žlahtina and of the second narrowest alley in the world. The route then runs back across the island, through old villages and thick vegetation, to Omišalj, with a chance to swim in the bay of Soline on the way. A cheerful last dinner on board closes the week with your fellow travellers and the tour guides.

Day 8: Omišalj (disembarkation)
End of your tour: disembarkation after breakfast, until 9 a.m., followed by your individual journey home.
