🙋 Common questions
How much does the Istria 3-day luxury cycling getaway cost?
The 3-day Istria luxury cycling getaway starts from €990 per person in a double room, in a standard room of a 5-star hotel near Buje. The price includes two nights with breakfast and one dinner. Prices vary by season, single room and solo traveller supplements apply, and bike rental is separate, from €70 for the two cycling days.
When is the best time for a cycling getaway in Istria?
The getaway can start on any day from 1 April to 30 October. Departures in April and from late September to the end of October are priced below the summer peak, which runs from 20 June to 19 September. Both loops combine inland hill towns with the coast around Umag.
How difficult are the bike rides on this Istria getaway?
The tour is graded easy to moderate and suits occasional cyclists with a good level of fitness. Each day offers a shorter and a longer loop: 28 or 47 km on the first day and 46 or 58 km on the second, with hills around Grožnjan and Momjan. An e-bike makes the inland climbs easier.
Do I change hotels during the cycling getaway in Istria?
No. You spend both nights at the same 5-star hotel in the medieval village of Mužolini Donji near Buje, and both rides are loops that start and finish there. You unpack once, and dinner on the first evening is included at the hotel.
Which bikes can I rent for this Istria cycling getaway?
Bike rental is not included in the tour price. For the two cycling days you can choose a custom-built trekking bike (€70), a gravel bike (€100), an e-trekking bike (€110), a carbon road bike (€110) or a carbon e-gravel bike (€140). Each bike comes with a helmet, lock, hand pump, spare tube, phone holder and cycle computer.
How do I get to the start of the getaway near Buje?
Arrival in Istria is independent. Private car or van transfers can be prebooked to and from the Buje–Brtonigla area from Pula, Trieste, Venice, Zagreb and Ljubljana airports or stations. Prices are per vehicle, starting from €150 one way from Pula for one to three people, and €160 from Trieste train or bus station.
Can I extend the Istria cycling getaway?
Yes. On the third day you can either depart after breakfast or extend your stay in Istria. Contact us and we will suggest options to lengthen your holiday, adding more time to explore the hill towns, vineyards and coast of the peninsula by bike.
