🙋 Common questions
How much does the Gulf of Corinth and Ionian Islands tour from Athens cost?
Prices start from EUR 2,429 per person in a twin cabin below deck. Boat Bike Tours lists Athens departures from EUR 2,279 in the 2027 season, while the highest published starting fare on the tour page is EUR 2,429, so the exact price depends on your departure date. Bike rental is not included and is booked separately.
When is the best season to sail and cycle from Athens to Corfu?
Departures run from spring to early autumn, with 2027 sailings from Athens in May, early June, early July and late August. Spring gives green landscapes and cooler climbing conditions, late summer gives the warmest sea for the swim stops on Ithaca and Meganisi. Midsummer in the Gulf of Corinth can be hot, so shoulder months are often more comfortable.
How hard is the cycling between Athens, the Gulf of Corinth and the Ionian Islands?
Boat Bike Tours rates this tour level 4 of 5. Expect hilly terrain with ascents of up to roughly 400 metres and 300 to 500 metres of climbing per day, across daily distances of 18 to 35 kilometres. It is aimed at cyclists who ride regularly and are confident on changing surfaces. Renting an e-bike makes the hills much easier.
How does the Athens to Corfu route differ from the Corfu to Athens direction?
It is a genuinely different itinerary, not a mirror image. From Athens you cycle Aegina and pass the Corinth Canal on day two, reach Delphi from Galaxidi on day three, and then work north through Ithaca, Meganisi, Lefkas and Paxos. Meganisi Island and the Nidri waterfall option appear only on this direction.
Which islands will I cycle on the way from Athens to Corfu?
You will ride on Aegina, Ithaca, Meganisi, Lefkas and Paxos, plus the mainland day to Delphi and Nafpaktos. Aegina holds the Temple of Aphaia, Ithaca is the mythical home of Odysseus, Meganisi has three quiet villages and the beach of Spartochori, and Paxos is blanketed in silver-green olive groves.
What ship will I sleep on between Athens and Corfu?
You will sail on the Panagiota, a two-masted motor sailer in the comfort class taking a maximum of twenty passengers in ten cabins. She has two sun decks, deck chairs, a covered sundeck and direct sea access for swimming. Your fare covers seven nights in a twin cabin below deck with a private shower and toilet.
Is there a minimum age for this guided tour in Greece?
Boat Bike Tours sets a minimum age of ten years, and asks that children have good physical condition and previous cycle-touring experience. Rental bikes require a minimum height of 1.20 metres for hybrid bikes and 1.50 metres for e-bikes. Helmets are compulsory on all rides, and bringing your own well-fitted helmet is recommended.
What is included in the price for the Athens to Corfu sailing?
Your fare covers seven nights on board with shower and toilet, two days of full board and five of half board, drinking water, all guided rides, an English-speaking guide, overview maps, bed linen and towels, daily cabin cleaning, the Delphi transfer, the Corinth Canal passage and group entrance fees to museums and archaeological sites.
