Short Description

Eight guided days from Athens to Corfu aboard the two-masted motor sailer Panagiota. You will cycle Aegina, Ithaca, Meganisi, Lefkas and Paxos, visit Delphi and sail the Corinth Canal, ending among the olive groves of the northern Ionian Islands.

Tour Program

Day 1: Athens – Piraeus (0 km)
You will arrive independently at Marina Zeas in Piraeus. Check-in on board the Panagiota is possible from 2 pm. You will enjoy dinner on board and spend your first night in the harbour of Piraeus.

Day 2: Piraeus – Aegina Island – Galaxidi (35 km)
In the morning you will sail to Aegina, an island famous for its pistachios even beyond the Greek borders. Your first cycle tour will take you to the exceptionally well-preserved Temple of Aphaia, enthroned high above the azure sea. In the afternoon you will sail through the Isthmus of Corinth: 6.3 km long, 24 metres wide and 8 metres deep, it saves the 400 km trip around the Peloponnese. If the weather is fine you will continue to Galaxidi, otherwise you will spend the night in or near Corinth.

Day 3: Galaxidi – Delphi – Mesolongi (0 km)
In the morning a transfer shuttle will collect you from Galaxidi and take you to the ancient site of Delphi, at the foot of the Parnassus mountain range. It was here that the ancient Greeks came to worship Apollo and consult the oracle, and the temples, treasuries, theatre and stadium make the visit unforgettable. In the afternoon the bus will take you to the harbour of Nafpaktos for lunch and a short stroll, then on to Mesolongi, where the boat will meet you for the night.

Day 4: Mesolongi – Ithaca Island (35 km)
In the morning a longer crossing will take you to Ithaca. If the weather is good you can take a swim break on the way before docking at the port of Vathy. In the afternoon you will explore legendary Ithaca by bike: a mountainous, scenic island where you can enjoy the charm of the Ionian Islands away from the crowds. Spectacular views await you on this round trip, and you will spend the night in Vathy.

Day 5: Meganisi Island – Lefkas Island (10 km)
During breakfast you will cross to Meganisi. Your bike tour will follow a panoramic route on quiet island roads through the three villages of this lovely island, giving you a good impression of traditional island life. At the beach of Spartochori there will be time for a coffee and a swim. In the afternoon you will continue to Nidri on Lefkas, where you can cycle through rustic olive groves to the hidden waterfall of Nidri if you wish. A longer 18 km variant is available.

Day 6: Nidri – Lefkas Town – Paxos Island (30 km)
Today's ride will lead you through the impressive mountains of Lefkas to the island capital of the same name. Along the way you can enjoy spectacular views before a well-deserved coffee in the mountain village of Karia. In the town of Lefkas the Panagiota will await you for a longer crossing to Paxos, during which you will have plenty of time to relax. You can spend the evening in one of the cosy taverns in the natural harbour of Gaios.

Day 7: Paxos Island – Corfu (23 km)
Paxos, the smallest of the seven Ionian Islands, is so densely covered in olive trees that the whole island seems to glisten a wonderful silver-green. Your morning tour will lead you around the whole island, with plenty of time for a swim at one of the many beaches. In the afternoon the Panagiota will take you to Corfu, and the last evening on board will end with a communal dinner alongside the crew, your fellow travellers and the tour guides.

Day 8: Corfu Island – Corfu City (0 km)
After breakfast you will check out and travel home independently, or extend your stay on Corfu Island.
