This is an easy to moderate tour. The route is mostly flat and car-free, following the Fulda and Weser rivers. Daily distances range from 65 to 74 km. There are a few short uphill sections of about 35 metres.

Yes. A daily return transfer by bus or train from Minden to Fulda is included. It departs at approximately 8:00 a.m. and arrives in Fulda by around 11:30 a.m.

Short Description

Germany's most popular cycle route combination: follow the Fulda and Weser rivers from Fulda to Minden. Seven days of flat, car-free riding past half-timbered towns, UNESCO Corvey Castle, and the Pied Piper town of Hamelin. Return transfer included. From €689 pp.

Tour Program

Day 1: Arrival in Fulda
You will arrive in the baroque city of Fulda, where your travel documents and rental bikes (if booked) will be handed over. Parking is available in public lots or at the hotel (approx. €10/day).

Day 2: Fulda – Bebra/Rotenburg (66/73 km)
You will follow the Fulda Cycle Path through a wooded valley, car-free and flat, to Bad Hersfeld with its famous monastery ruins. Continue to Bebra or Rotenburg, where a surprisingly beautiful old town with half-timbered houses awaits.

Day 3: Bebra/Rotenburg – Kassel (74/67 km)
Through beautifully wooded, narrow river meanders and almost uninhabited nature reserves you will ride. A cable car for cyclists near Malsfeld adds variety. The destination is Kassel with magnificent parks and the famous Orangery — Germany's largest baroque complex.

Day 4: Kassel – Bad Karlshafen (70 km)
You will cycle through the narrow, wooded Fulda Valley to Hann. Münden, a gem of half-timbered architecture. Then along the Weser Cycle Path, entirely car-free and flat, past Bursfelde Monastery to the beautiful spa town of Bad Karlshafen.

Day 5: Bad Karlshafen – Bodenwerder (65 km)
Passing the old town of Höxter, you will visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Corvey Castle, then continue through Holzminden to reach Bodenwerder with its beautiful squares and Weser promenade.

Day 6: Bodenwerder – Minden (73 km)
Your final riding day takes you to the famous Pied Piper town of Hamelin with its Weser Renaissance old town. Continue to the trading town of Rinteln, then through Porta Westfalica to reach Minden with its cathedral and historic old town.

Day 7: Departure
A return transfer by bus or train departs from Minden at approximately 8:00 a.m., arriving in Fulda by around 11:30 a.m.
