Fulda & Weser Cycle Path: Cozy Tour – Fulda to Hamelin

Day 1: Arrival in Fulda
You will arrive in the baroque city of Fulda, where your travel documents and rental bikes (if booked) will be handed over. Parking is available in public lots or at the hotel (approx. €10/day).

Day 2: Fulda – Bad Hersfeld (50 km)
From the city centre you will quickly reach the river and follow the entirely car-free Fulda Cycle Path past Kämmerzell through the wide low mountain valley, past Lake Pfordt to Niederaula. Your destination is Bad Hersfeld, home to the largest monastery ruins in Central Europe.

Day 3: Bad Hersfeld – Morschen/Melsungen (43/60 km)
A car-free cycle path leads through the wide valley past Friedlos and gravel lakes to Rotenburg, beautifully situated on the Fulda. Continue to Hotel Kloster Haydau in Morschen or to nearby Melsungen, a jewel of half-timbered architecture.

Day 4: Morschen/Melsungen – Kassel (54/37 km)
Through beautifully wooded, narrow river meanders and almost uninhabited nature reserves you will ride. Kassel awaits with its magnificent parks, the famous Orangery — Germany's largest baroque complex — and its splendid old town.

Day 5: Kassel – Bad Karlshafen (70 km)
You will cycle through the narrow, wooded Fulda Valley to Hann. Münden, a masterpiece of half-timbered architecture. Then along the Weser Cycle Path, entirely car-free and flat, past Bursfelde Monastery to the spa town of Bad Karlshafen.

Day 6: Bad Karlshafen – Holzminden (64/36 km)
Today offers an optional highlight: the Carlsbahn cycle path through the wild and romantic Diemel Valley to Trendelburg and Wülmersen Castle (28 km round trip). Then continue to Höxter and the UNESCO World Heritage Corvey Castle.

Day 7: Holzminden – Hamelin (54 km)
Your final stage leads through the wide Weser valley past Ehrenstein Castle to Bodenwerder with its half-timbered houses. You will then reach the famous Pied Piper town of Hamelin with its magnificent Weser Renaissance old town.

Day 8: Departure
A return transfer by bus or train departs from Hamelin at approximately 8:00 a.m., arriving in Fulda by around 11:30 a.m.
