How difficult is this cycling tour?
This is an easy to moderate tour. The route follows the Drava River gently downhill for most of the way, with daily distances between 32 and 62 km. The path is mostly flat and well-signposted, making it suitable for recreational cyclists and families with older children.
What type of accommodation is provided?
You will stay in good 3-star and 4-star hotels. Daily breakfast buffet or extended breakfast is included. Half board with five 3-course dinners can be added for €145 per person.
How does luggage transfer work?
Your luggage is collected from your hotel by 9:00 a.m. each morning and delivered to your next accommodation by approximately 6:30 p.m. Liability coverage of €1,000 per person is included.
Is the return transfer included?
Yes. From 2027 the return journey by train is included every day: public transport on this route is largely free thanks to the Carinthian guest card you receive with the mandatory local tax. Trains run e.g. from Kühnsdorf-Klopeiner See at approx. 9:13 to Sillian/Strassen at approx. 13:11 (2 changes). Getting to the station is up to you — e.g. the shuttle St. Kanzian–Kühnsdorf costs approx. €2 per person, payable on site. Alternatively, a bus transfer runs every Saturday for €84 per person.
Can I bring my own bike?
Yes. On the train you take your bike with you. On the Saturday bus, transport of your own bike costs €40 and must be booked in advance.
What departure days are available?
Arrivals are on Fridays and Saturdays from 14 May to 4 September 2027.
Are there child discounts?
Yes. Children aged 0 to 6 ride free, ages 7 to 11 receive a 50% discount, and ages 12 to 15 receive a 25% discount. Maximum one child per double room with two full-paying adults.
