Short Description

Three capitals, three coastlines, and eleven days on two wheels through the Baltic States. You will begin in Vilnius, where baroque towers rise above cobblestone lanes, and end in Tallinn, where medieval spires meet the Gulf of Finland. Between them lies a world few travellers see from the saddle. You will cycle along the Curonian Spit — a narrow ribbon of dunes and pine forest separating the Baltic Sea from the Curonian Lagoon — and ride through Latvia's quiet coastal wetlands to the seaside resort of Pärnu. On Saaremaa, Estonia's largest island, you will pass ancient windmills, a meteorite crater, and a 13th-century episcopal castle on roads with barely a car in sight. This is a supported self-guided tour: a driver with a minivan accompanies the group throughout, handling luggage transfers and offering assistance whenever needed. Guided walking tours in Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn bring each UNESCO-listed old town to life. The cycling is moderate — mostly flat, mostly paved, and always within reach of the coast.

Tour Program

Day 1: Arrival in Vilnius
You will arrive in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania for more than six hundred years. The baroque old town — the largest in Central Europe — unfolds around narrow lanes, hidden courtyards, and churches whose facades catch the late-afternoon light. Settle into your hotel and take a first stroll.

Day 2: Vilnius – Trakai – Kaunas (25 km cycling; ~115 km by minibus)
The morning begins with a guided walking tour of Vilnius Old Town. In the afternoon you will transfer to Trakai, the former capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The 14th-century Gothic island castle rises from Lake Galvė like something out of a storybook. You will begin your first ride here, cycling through gentle hills and picturesque countryside before transferring by bus to Kaunas.

Day 3: Kaunas – Klaipėda (40 km cycling; ~230 km by minibus)
You will ride through the forest parks of Kaunas on a cycle trail that follows the Nemunas River. En route, the old town of Kaunas reveals itself — and in Zapyškis, a tiny 14th-century Gothic church stands alone in the fields, one of the most unusual in Lithuania. After the ride, a bus transfer brings you to Klaipėda on the Baltic coast.

Day 4: Curonian Spit National Park (57 km cycling; ~50 km by minibus or boat)
The longest ride of the tour takes you south along the Curonian Spit, a UNESCO World Heritage strip of sand dunes, pine forest and amber beaches. You will follow the Seaside Cycle Route with the Baltic Sea on one side and the Curonian Lagoon on the other. In Nida, one of Lithuania's most beautiful resorts, you will pause before returning to Klaipėda by speedboat or minibus.

Day 5: Klaipėda – Palanga – Hill of Crosses – Riga (36 km cycling; ~290 km by minibus)
You will ride north through the Seaside Regional Park to Palanga, Lithuania's best-known beach resort. The botanical park, the Amber Museum and a 470-metre pier stretching into the Baltic Sea are all worth a visit. In the afternoon, the transfer to Riga passes the Hill of Crosses — an unforgettable sight of thousands of crosses placed on two small hills. You will arrive in Riga, the capital of Latvia, for two nights.

Day 6: Riga and Jūrmala (30 km cycling; ~25 km by train)
The morning opens with a guided walking tour of Riga Old Town — a medieval Hanseatic city celebrated for its Art Nouveau architecture. In the afternoon you will cycle along a dedicated bike path to Jūrmala, a seaside resort famous for its long white sand beaches and mineral waters. A local train carries you back to Riga in the evening.

Day 7: Riga – Pärnu (65 km cycling; ~115 km by bus)
A morning transfer brings you to the Estonian border. You will cycle along the Baltic coast, following quiet roads past wetlands, reed beds and sheltered coves alive with birdlife. The ride ends in Pärnu, the summer capital of Estonia.

Day 8: Pärnu – Saaremaa Island (50 km cycling; ~130 km by minibus; ferry crossing)
A transfer and ferry crossing deliver you to Saaremaa, Estonia's largest island. With almost no traffic and flat roads, the island is made for cycling. You will ride past the iconic Angla windmills and the Kaali meteorite crater — one of the rarest natural wonders in Estonia — before arriving in the island capital of Kuressaare for two nights.

Day 9: Saaremaa Island (56 km cycling; ~50 km by minibus)
A full day exploring Saaremaa's wild beauty by bike. You will ride to the Sõrve Peninsula and its lighthouse at the island's southern tip. The day ends back in Kuressaare, home to one of the finest preserved medieval episcopal castles in the Baltics, dating from the 13th century.

Day 10: Saaremaa – Tallinn (41 km cycling; ~200 km by bus; ferry crossing)
A morning ferry and transfer return you to the Estonian mainland. You will cycle along the Baltic coast, passing the Keila-Joa waterfall and the dramatic Türisalu coastal cliffs before riding into Tallinn. A guided walking tour of Tallinn's medieval old town rounds off the day.

Day 11: Departure from Tallinn
Your tour ends after breakfast. You may choose to extend your stay in Estonia.
