🙋 Common questions
What is the difficulty level of this tour?
This tour is rated moderate. While most stages are manageable, two days include notable climbing with up to 650 metres of elevation gain. The terrain mixes cycle paths, quiet roads, and some hilly stretches through the Pyrenean foothills. An e-bike is strongly recommended if you prefer a more relaxed pace.
What type of accommodation is provided?
You will stay in 3- and 4-star hotels throughout the tour. Two dinners are included in the package. Biarritz nights are in a 3-star superior hotel.
How do I get to Biarritz?
Biarritz-Anglet-Bayonne Airport serves many European cities. Bayonne TGV station is a short transfer away, with high-speed trains from Paris. You will need to plan your own travel to and from Biarritz.
What type of bike is best for this tour?
A touring bike works well for most of the route. An e-bike is ideal for the hillier stages. Road bikes are also available for experienced cyclists who prefer a sportier ride.
When is the best time to do this tour?
The tour runs from April to October. Late spring and early autumn offer mild weather and fewer crowds. July and August are warmer and livelier, with a summer surcharge reflecting higher accommodation demand.
