Tour Program

Day 1: Arrival in Biarritz
You will arrive at your 4-star hotel in Biarritz, one of Europe's most famous seaside resorts. Collect your documentation and road book. Magnificent ocean beaches, world-class surfing, and thalassotherapy centres are popular worldwide. In the evening, restaurants, bars, and lively squares will set the scene for your first night on the Basque Coast.

Day 2: Biarritz – Hondarribia (32 km; +300 m)
You will discover the wealth of natural spaces along the Basque cornice: valleys, ridges, towering cliffs, and farmland. Visit Saint-Jean-de-Luz and its famous bay, then Hendaye and the Abbadia domain. A river shuttle carries you across the Bidassoa into Spain and the fortified town of Hondarribia, famous for its tapas and colourful Basque houses. The walled old town, declared a Historic and Artistic Monument, is full of stately buildings surrounded by 16th-century walls dominated by the Castle of Charles V.

Day 3: Hondarribia – Ainhoa or Espelette (43–48 km; +650 m)
From Hondarribia you will board the river shuttle back to Hendaye and continue to Ascain, with its prestigious Roman bridge. Four kilometres away, the little train of La Rhune can carry you to the highest peak of the Basque Country. After strolling through Sare with its picturesque streets, you will ride to the village of witches — legend says their spirits still haunt the surroundings. Your day ends in Ainhoa, a typical village with half-timbered houses and 800 years of history lining its main street.
Dinner, night and breakfast in hotel 3 or 4\*.

Day 4: Ainhoa/Espelette – Cambo-les-Bains area (20–40 km; +400 m)
After crossing the Pinodieta Pass, you will ride through Espelette, famous for its small wild Pottok horses and the iconic pepper that will tempt your taste buds. Then you will follow in Napoleon's footsteps along the Route des Cimes, a mountain road built during his time offering sweeping views of the Pyrenean foothills.
