Short Description

A cycling weekend around Bayeux exploring the D-Day landing beaches of Normandy — from Omaha and Gold Beach to the bocage countryside. Three days of history, coastal cliffs, and quiet country lanes.

Tour Program

Day 1: Bayeux – Arromanches – Gold Beach (44 km; +344 m)
You will begin your Normandy cycling adventure in the medieval heart of Bayeux, where the famous 11th-century tapestry tells the story of William the Conqueror. Your first ride will take you along quiet lanes to Longues-sur-Mer and its imposing German battery, then on to Gold Beach and the remarkable remains of the artificial port at Arromanches — built on Churchill's orders for the D-Day landings. The Arromanches 360° circular cinema will bring the Battle of Normandy vividly to life before you cycle back through the hedged fields of the bocage.

Day 2: Bayeux – Omaha Beach – Bayeux (55 km; +382 m)
You will ride to Vierville-sur-Mer and Omaha Beach, where the heaviest Allied losses were suffered on 6 June 1944. Above the beach, the American cemetery at Colleville-sur-Mer stretches in quiet rows of white headstones against the ever-present sea. An optional extension to La Pointe du Hoc will reveal the dramatic cliff-top craters left by naval bombardment. You will return to Bayeux through rolling farmland, with the option to visit the Overlord Museum along the way.

Day 3: Bayeux – Seulles Valley – Bayeux (44 km; +374 m)
Your final ride will follow beautiful country lanes through the Bessin to the Abbey of Juaye-Mondaye, founded in 1202 and still home to a community of Premonstratensian monks. You will then explore the gentle Seulles Valley, a landscape of small lanes, hedgerows, and pastoral views that captures the quiet charm of inland Normandy.
