Mallorca Road Bike

Day 1: Arrival in Palma de Mallorca
You will arrive in Palma de Mallorca and transfer to your beachfront hotel in Ca'n Pastilla, where a long sandy beach and a cycle path along the promenade lead into the city of Palma de Mallorca. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy the beach or explore the city.

Day 2: Palma de Mallorca – Colonia de Sant Jordi (84 km)
From Ca'n Pastilla you will follow the cycle path along the beautiful Bahía de Palma before the route turns inland through the Mallorcan countryside, past narrow lanes, windmills and almond trees. An ascent leads to the Santuari de Cura and its panoramic views, and you will pass through Llucmajor and Porreres before a second climb to the Santuari de Monti-Sion. The route returns to the coast at Colonia de Sant Jordi, at the end of the long beach of Es Trenc.

Day 3: Colonia de Sant Jordi – Porto Cristo (65-106 km)
You will pass Ses Salines, where the Romans once extracted salt, with a short detour to a lighthouse on a striking stretch of coastline. The route continues to the village of Santanyí, close to the Parc Natural de Mondragó with its birdlife and the beach of Cala Mondragó, before heading inland from Felanitx. Two climbs lead to the Castell de Santueri and the Santuari de la Mare de Déu de Sant Salvador before you reach Porto Cristo, home to the Cuevas del Drac caves and their underground lake.

Day 4: Porto Cristo – Cala Ratjada (82-115 km)
An inland loop takes you to Manacor, home to the Rafael Nadal Academy and Museum Xperience, before the route returns to the coast at the Cuevas de Artà, whose entrance overlooks the sea. You will pass the beach of Canyamel and the castle of Capdepera on the way to Cala Ratjada, where you can spend time at the beaches of Cala Agulla or Cala Mesquida, or ride on to the lighthouse of Capdepera with views across to Menorca.

Day 5: Cala Ratjada – Port de Pollença (97-130 km)
You will ride through Artà, a village of narrow medieval streets, cafés and a 15th-century fortress, with an extension to the Ermita de Betlem monastery and its views across the sea toward Alcúdia and Formentor. The route crosses the wide Bahía de Alcúdia, home to the birdlife of the Parc Natural de S'Albufera and the beach of Playa del Muro, before passing the medieval walls and Roman ruins of Alcúdia and reaching the bay of Pollença and your hotel in Port de Pollença.

Day 6: Port de Pollença – Port de Pollença (40 km)
Today's ride is shorter than usual, heading out to the Cape de Formentor lighthouse along cliffs that drop straight into the deep blue sea - one of the island's most famous routes. A shorter option leads to the beach of Platja de Formentor, or you may choose a short ride into the village of Pollença, or simply enjoy a free day on its pine-lined seafront promenade.

Day 7: Port de Pollença – Port de Sóller (64-88 km)
You will climb into the Sierra de Tramuntana, with the first ascent leading to Lluc and its famous monastery. From there the route follows the descent of Sa Calobra - one way, so riders who descend also earn the climb back to the top, one of the most celebrated climbs in the world (a boat back to Port de Sóller is possible, sea conditions permitting). The land route continues through the villages of Fornalutx and Biniaraix before reaching Sóller and Port de Sóller.

Day 8: Port de Sóller – Palma de Mallorca / Can Pastilla (73-102 km)
Your final day of riding takes you through more of the Sierra de Tramuntana, past Deià, once home to the writer Robert Graves, and Valldemossa, once home to Chopin and the novelist George Sand. Olive groves and orange, lemon and almond trees line the coastline back to Palma de Mallorca, and a coastal cycle path returns you to Can Pastilla.

Day 9: Departure from Can Pastilla
You will depart from Can Pastilla, or you may choose to stay on an extra day or two to relax and enjoy the island.
