Loire Castles Cycling Discovery

Day 1: Arrival in Blois
You will arrive in the royal city of Blois, where typical paved streets climb with their staircases and the château stands as a perfect illustration of how French architecture evolved — from the Middle Ages to the 17th century. Settle in and let the journey begin.

Day 2: Blois – Amboise (40 km; +200 m)
You will follow the Pays des Châteaux cycle tracks through tiny villages to the impressive Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire, perched above the river. You will then continue on the Loire à Vélo cycle tracks to Amboise, where the royal château, home to the greatest kings of France and to Leonardo da Vinci, awaits you.
Optional: Canoe trip on the Loire river from Mosnes to Amboise (approx. 1h30) — glide along the last wild river in Europe amid extraordinary fauna and flora.

Day 3: Amboise – Chenonceaux via Montlouis (40 km; +170 m)
You will ride through the vineyards of Montlouis-sur-Loire, then descend into the Cher valley toward the iconic Château de Chenonceau. Straddling the Cher river, it was the scene of a famous rivalry between Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici. Wander through the gardens of both rivals and let the murmur of the river tell their story.
Optional: Canoe trip on the Cher river offering a unique perspective of the château from the water (approx. 2h).

Day 4: Chenonceaux – Cour Cheverny or Chitenay (55 km or 45 km; +200 m / +170 m)
You will pedal along the peaceful Cher river banks to the medieval town of Montrichard, then cross into the vineyards of Touraine. The fortified Château de Fougères-sur-Bièvre, a gem of 15th-century architecture, marks your path before your cycling day ends in Chitenay, in a charming rural inn, or in Cour Cheverny, just around the famous château.

Day 5: Cour Cheverny or Chitenay – Blois (45 km or 55 km; +240 m / +290 m)
Your final cycling stage will reveal two of the Loire's greatest treasures. You will visit the sumptuously furnished Château de Cheverny, then ride onward to the breathtaking Château de Chambord — a masterpiece of French Renaissance architecture with its 440 rooms, built during the reign of Francis I. From Chambord, you will ride back to Blois.

Day 6: Departure during the day
After breakfast, you will depart from Blois at your leisure.
