Cycling Discovery in the Heart of the Châteaux Country

Day 1: Arrival in Blois
You will arrive in the royal city of Blois, where cobbled streets climb past half-timbered houses and the magnificent château stands as a living textbook of French architecture — from the Middle Ages to the 17th century. Settle in, stroll along the Loire, and let the journey begin.

Day 2: Blois – Amboise (42 km; +200 m)
You will follow the Loire à Vélo cycle paths through the enchanting Pays des Châteaux, passing tiny villages and the impressive Château de Chaumont-sur-Loire perched above the river. The route winds onward to Amboise, where the royal château and the spirit of Leonardo da Vinci at Clos Lucé await you.
Optional: Canoe trip on the Loire river from Mosnes to Amboise (approx. 1h30) — glide along the last wild river in Europe amid extraordinary fauna and flora.

Day 3: Excursion to Vouvray (48 km; +390 m)
You will leave the Loire banks and climb into the picturesque Vouvray vineyards, surrounded by troglodyte houses carved into the soft tufa cliffs. Along the way you will admire superb Renaissance private châteaux — the Château de Valmer with its Italian gardens and the beautiful Château de Jallanges. A stop at a local wine producer for a glass of the celebrated Vouvray white is not to be missed.

Day 4: Amboise – Chenonceaux via Montlouis (42 km; +166 m)
You will ride through the renowned vineyards of Montlouis-sur-Loire, then descend into the Cher valley toward the iconic Château de Chenonceau. This masterpiece of Renaissance elegance spans the river itself, built upon the rivalry of two remarkable women — Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici. Wander through its gardens and let the murmur of the river tell their story.
Optional: Canoe trip on the Cher river offering a unique perspective of the château from the water (approx. 2h).

Day 5: Chenonceaux – Cheverny or Chitenay (53 km or 40 km; +209 m / +173 m)
You will pedal along the peaceful Cher river banks to the medieval town of Montrichard, then cross into the vineyards of Touraine. The fortified Château de Fougères-sur-Bièvre, a gem of 15th-century architecture, marks your path before you reach the charming village of Chitenay or the elegant town of Cheverny.

Day 6: Excursion to Beauregard and Sologne (47 km; +228 m)
A day of contrasts awaits. You will visit the Château de Beauregard, famous for its remarkable Portrait Gallery, then venture into the rich and mysterious Sologne — a land of ancient forests, hidden ponds at every crossroads, and small private châteaux concealed behind vineyards and groves.

Day 7: Cheverny or Chitenay – Blois (42 km or 52 km; +238 m / +290 m)
Your final cycling stage will reveal two of the Loire's greatest treasures. You will visit the sumptuously furnished Château de Cheverny, then ride onward to the breathtaking Château de Chambord — a masterpiece of French Renaissance architecture with its 440 rooms, built during the reign of Francis I. From Chambord, the path leads you back to Blois through the forests of the Sologne.

Day 8: Departure during the day
After breakfast, you will depart from Blois at your leisure.
