Discover Holland's UNESCO Treasures

Day 1: Amsterdam (Embarkation)
Your journey begins in Amsterdam, where check-in takes place during the afternoon. After meeting the crew and a safety briefing, the ship casts off, gliding through the Amsterdam locks and out onto the IJsselmeer. As you settle in, you will cross the largest freshwater lake in the Netherlands toward Hoorn, a historic trading town shaped by the legacy of the Dutch East India Company. A welcome dinner on board awaits on arrival.

Day 2: Hoorn – Enkhuizen (30 or 37 km)
Your cycling adventure begins. After a personal bike fitting, you will follow quiet paths through the rural heart of North Holland. Choose between a longer or shorter route; the longer one leads through Medemblik, a charming trading town on the shore of the IJsselmeer, before continuing to Enkhuizen, a well-preserved gem with a beautiful historic centre and rich maritime heritage.

Day 3: Enkhuizen – Lemmer – Sneek (35 or 50 km)
This morning the ship carries you across the IJsselmeer into Friesland, a province of lakes, waterways and proud traditions. Your ride begins at the UNESCO World Heritage Woudagemaal, the world's largest still-operating steam-powered pumping station. From there you will cycle through a tranquil mosaic of water and land toward Sneek, a lively town famous for its sailing culture and historic Water Gate. Dinner is not included this evening, leaving you free to dine at one of the town's restaurants.

Day 4: Sneek – Franeker (43 km)
Today's route continues through Friesland's wide-open landscapes, dotted with villages and grazing cattle. You will arrive in the charming town of Franeker, where there is time to visit another UNESCO World Heritage site: the Eise Eisinga Planetarium. This 18th-century mechanical model of the solar system is the oldest working orrery in the world, still ticking inside a canal-house living room.

Day 5: Franeker – Harlingen – Kornwerderzand (23 or 35 km)
In the morning you will sail to the historic harbour town of Harlingen and enjoy a guided walk through its streets. Then you will cycle along the coastline to Kornwerderzand on the Afsluitdijk, a legendary feat of Dutch engineering. A visit to the Wadden Sea Experience Center brings you face to face with the tidal landscape of the Wadden Sea, itself a UNESCO World Heritage site celebrated for its unique ecosystem. Afterwards, the ship continues to Den Helder.

Day 6: Den Helder – Alkmaar (45 km)
A peaceful morning sailing brings you to St. Maartensvlotbrug, where your ride leads through the North Holland Dune Reserve, a protected coastal landscape of shifting dunes, quiet forests and sweeping sea views. You will pass through picturesque villages before arriving in the historic city of Alkmaar.

Day 7: Alkmaar – Zaanse Schans – Amsterdam (38 or 47 km)
As you enjoy breakfast, the ship sails along the North Holland Canal. Today's final ride is a UNESCO double-feature: first through the orderly fields of the Beemster Polder, one of the Netherlands' earliest reclaimed landscapes, then on to Zaanse Schans, a living village of working windmills and traditional green-timbered houses. Your tour culminates in Amsterdam with an evening cruise through its legendary canal belt, another UNESCO World Heritage site.

Day 8: Amsterdam (Disembarkation)
After breakfast, it is time to say goodbye to the crew and your fellow travellers. Following check-out, your individual journey home begins, or your stay in the Netherlands continues.

The tour itinerary and route are approximate and subject to change due to nautical, technical or meteorological reasons. On some days you may choose between a longer and a shorter cycling route, or remain on board while the ship cruises to the next landing place.
