🙋 Common questions
How difficult is cycling in Holland on this tour?
This tour covers about 141 km over three cycling days, on the flat terrain typical of North and South Holland. Daily stages run between 41 and 50 km, and on some days a shorter route option is available. Two tour leaders lead two separate groups at different paces, and e-bikes can be rented.
When is the best time to see the tulips in Holland?
Spring is the season for this tour. The Keukenhof normally opens from late March to mid-May, and the bulb fields around Lisse and Haarlem colour up from early April. Departure dates are shown under Availability, and each one is timed to fall inside the blooming window.
How much does a boat and bike tour in Holland cost?
Prices start from €1,049 per person and vary by departure date, ship and cabin type; live prices are shown on this page under Availability. The price covers four nights on board with breakfast, packed lunches, four three-course dinners, two tour leaders and the entrance fees to Keukenhof and the Dune Reserve.
Is this Holland tulip tour guided or self-guided?
It is fully guided. Two tour leaders accompany two separate groups so that cyclists of different speeds ride comfortably, and daily briefings on board explain the route ahead. A detailed cycling map and a GPS app are also provided for guests who prefer to ride on their own.
Where do you sleep on a boat and bike tour in Holland?
You sleep on board in a climate-controlled cabin, with bed linen and towels provided and the cabin cleaned daily. The ship sails while you cycle or in the evening, so you unpack once for the whole tour and still wake up somewhere new.
Do I need to bring my own bicycle?
No. A premium hybrid bicycle can be rented for €88 per tour and a premium e-bike for €164; e-bike numbers are limited, so reserving at the time of booking is recommended. If you prefer your own bike, parking on board costs €8 per tour, or €20 with a charging point for an e-bike.
Which ships operate this tour in Holland?
The tour runs on the deluxe ships Magnifique II, Magnifique III and Magnifique IV, carrying between 36 and 40 guests in 17 to 21 cabins. All three have individually controlled air conditioning, a jacuzzi and a spacious deck. The ship assigned to each departure is shown under Availability.
Can I skip a cycling day?
Yes. If you would rather not cycle on a particular day you can stay on board and relax while the ship sails to the next mooring. Route distances are approximate, and the itinerary may change for nautical, technical or weather reasons.
