What is the difficulty level of this tour?
This tour is rated moderate. Daily distances range from 36 to 57 km on mostly flat to gently rolling terrain along the Loire river, with a total elevation gain of roughly 1,150 m over five cycling days. The route follows well-marked Loire à Vélo paths, suitable for anyone with a reasonable level of fitness.
What type of accommodation is provided?
You will stay in 2-star and 3-star hotels (Classic category), 3-star hotels (Superior), or 3-star and 4-star hotels (Privilege). All six nights include breakfast in double or twin rooms.
How do I get to the starting point?
Blois is easily reached by train from Paris Austerlitz station in about 1 hour 30 minutes. At the end of the tour, you can return from Saumur to Blois by train (about 1h20) or take a TGV connection from Saumur via Tours or Angers back to Paris Montparnasse.
Is luggage transfer included?
Yes. Your luggage (one bag up to 20 kg per person) is transferred between hotels on each cycling day. An extra luggage supplement of 30 euros per bag per transfer is available if needed.
Can I rent a bike for this tour?
Yes. Hybrid bikes, trekking bikes, and e-bikes are available. Child trailers, baby seats, and follow-me tandems are also available.
