Historic Towns and coastal Holland by Sail and Bike

Day 1: Antwerp (embarkation)
Your journey begins in Antwerp, one of Europe's great port cities. You will board the three-master Elizabeth moored close to the centre, settle into your cabin and enjoy a first drink on deck as the ship glides through lower Flanders toward the village of Doel. A relaxed evening to meet the crew and your fellow travellers.

Day 2: Doel – Hulst – Terneuzen (39 or 49 km)
After a short cruise you will cross from Belgium into the Netherlands and begin your first ride. The longer route leads to Hulst, one of the best-preserved fortified towns in the country, then on to the maritime port of Terneuzen, where the ship will be waiting.

Day 3: Terneuzen – Breskens (50 km)
You will ride through Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, a region of a distinct, almost Burgundian character, where beaches, dunes and tidal flats meet dikes and polders reclaimed from the sea along the Western Scheldt.

Day 4: Middelburg – coast – Middelburg (30 or 55 km)
A circular ride from Middelburg, the elegant capital of Zeeland. You will cycle to the seaport of Vlissingen, then follow the coast past dunes and beaches to Westkapelle behind its huge sea wall, before returning to Middelburg on fresh sea air.

Day 5: Middelburg – Veere – Kamperland (36 km)
You will reach charming Veere on the Veerse Meer, with its old harbour and Scottish Houses, then cross the Oosterschelde storm surge barrier at Neeltje Jans, the most impressive part of the Delta Works, before the ship's mooring in Kamperland.

Day 6: Kamperland – Hansweert (sailing day)
A day devoted to sailing. You will glide through calm waters and locks across the Oosterschelde toward Hansweert. No experience is needed, but the crew will gladly show you how to help set the sails.

Day 7: Hansweert – Antwerp (34 km)
On the final cycling day you will ride to Zandvliet, just north of Antwerp, then sail back into the city, a fitting close to a week of varied landscapes, sea air and shared moments on board.

Day 8: Antwerp (disembarkation)
After breakfast you will disembark by 9:30.
