Carinthian Lake Loop: Spittal/Seeboden Round Trip

Day 1: Arrival in Spittal/Seeboden
You will arrive in Spittal an der Drau or nearby Seeboden on Lake Millstatt. Parking is available near or at the hotel (approx. €35/week, payable on site). Your rental bikes, if booked, will be waiting at the hotel.

Day 2: Spittal/Seeboden – Villach (50 km)
You will follow the Drava Cycle Path past the Roman excavations at the Carantana Museum, through Rothenthurn with its imposing castle, via Paternion and Feistritz to Villach, the gateway city between Lake Faak, Lake Ossiach, and the Villach Alps.

Day 3: Lake Ossiach Round Tour (40 km)
Today you will cycle down the Drava Path to the Red Bridge, then past the foot of the imposing Landskron Castle to reach Carinthia's third-largest lake. A picturesque loop takes you to Ossiach with its former Benedictine abbey and Baroque church, returning via Annenheim.

Day 4: Villach – Ferlach/Unterbergen (52 km)
Passing the Silbersee (with an optional detour to Lake Faak), you will ride to Rosegg Castle with Austria's most species-rich zoo and the Celtic World archaeological site. Through the enchanting Rosental valley via Feistritz to the Ferlach reservoir and the historic Gunsmith Town.

Day 5: Ferlach – Velden/Krumpendorf (40 km)
Via Maria Rain you will reach Klagenfurt, famous for its southern flair and the iconic Lindwurm fountain. The cycle path then runs along the shore of Lake Wörthersee to Pörtschach with stunning views framed by the Karawanken mountain range.

Day 6: Velden/Krumpendorf – Spittal/Seeboden (65 km)
Via Villach, you will cycle back to Spittal along the Drava Cycle Path, or slightly uphill to Seeboden. This route can be easily shortened by train for a more relaxed final day.

Day 7: Departure
After breakfast, your circular tour ends. Journey home or extend your stay with additional nights.
