If there's something that we've always loved about bikes it's that when you get in the saddle, you become part of a large, huge network of friends, with whom we share adventures and misadventures. The bike unites and is good for the body and mind: this however is certainly not news, they say it in the book 'A beautiful bike that goes' and in many other publications on two wheels that we recommend.
However, it also expressed through their art street artists Mart and Hopnn who represent colorful bikes on the walls of the world to celebrate the positive power of this means. All this positivity also infected a great Italian music artist, Jovanotti, who in 2017 decided to embark on an adventure trip truly unforgettable, from which the docufilm #vadoafarmiungiro also came out.
Jovanotti on a bike in New Zealand
Lorenzo Cherubini, aka Jovanotti, has a particular passion for nature and the bike, already in 1998 before the publication of the book "The Great Boh!" he had taken some time traveling on bike alone in Patagonia, to be inspired by the people and the stories he met. Several years later he did it again, but this time the destination was New Zealand.
Jovanotti covered 3000 km recording videos of his daily stages, which tell about incredible experiences and also some unpredictable, as often happens in this type of bike adventures. A journey lasted 20 days in an island to the south of New Zealand, facing 12,000 meters of altitude difference and with 35 kg of equipment. All alone, all to see this part of the Western world, but at the same time so governed by nature: in few words, a unique place in the world. From this incredible experience has also released a documentary-film called just "I'm going to take a ride" and shortly before departure, the singer had launched on social the hashtag #vadoafarmiungiro.
During the solo bike ride he recorded over 40 hours of shooting, which were then edited by a videomaker to make the documentary. A nearly one-hour video came out, published on jova.tv in which Jovanotti recounts the different stages of the journey in person and in which it seems to be really traveling with him. All he used was a GoPro mounted on the helmet, while the rest is done by the landscapes of New Zealand, the singer's profound reflections and the soundtrack, composed by himself and inspired by his love for travel.
